Dr. Gschwend is the worst GYN I've had. I had 3 children. He delivered the last one. I wish I had avoided him. In spite of knowing a health condition of mine he was so uncaring during delivery that I suffered a bowel tear. I am still suffering the consequences of this today (years later!). He is indeed incompetent, careless and uninterested in the patient.

Absolutely an outstanding doctor. He delivered 4 children for us, including twins. Two of the pregnancies were difficult, and he was consistently informative, direct, and helpful. And his quiet, wry humor is an added bonus. I have seen him in an emergency situation, and he keeps his cool when everything else (including his patient) is out of control. Best doctor I've ever had.

Dr.Gschwend delivered 2 out of my 3 children. He is a very good and caring Dr. I found his dry sense of humor charming and understanding. He is a problem solver and I agree direct. I have seem him for subsequent issues and he does do everything to come up with the correct diagnosis. I am sorry others were not as happy.

Uncaring, cold and incompetent. He scheduled my first trimester screening too late so had to have transabdominal cvs. Received the devastating news of the result (T21) through a call from the midwife in the practice - not him. Arranged what next step we would take completely alone - not even a phone call from my so-called doctor. He has had no communication with me since prior to the screening. Cannot even begin to describe the poor care I received from this doctor and this practice.

I was grateful that Dr. Gschwend was willing and able to perform my surgery laproscopically when 2 other doctors (icluding a Georgetown doctor)said they would not even attempt it. As a result, my recovery was almost nothing even though my surgery was apparently very challenging. I was happy and after that I switched to him as my only doctor. No high marks for personality but I don't care. I'm lucky I found him. I found him quiet but a "very deep thinker" and very knowledgeable.

Doctor does not spend enough time with patients and I felt rushed and dismissed about my questions and concerns. Additionally, they charge $30 a pop for a prescription change.

I have been a patient for 15 yrs and have been very satisfied with the practice. I have had several surgeries and numerous appointments and have no complaints.

He is very direct and I have enjoyed having him as my doctor. I like that he is straight forward, always on time and his nurses say he is great in an emergency.
