It started with, what I thought, was sciatic nerve problems going down my leg, so I started by going to physical therapy, which helped some. Then when it came back, I did 2 more months of physical therapy. Okay for a very short while, the the pain came back, almost debilitating. I was having to use a walker to walk my dog, or go anywhere. Dr. Lucas first tried injections, which helped for a couple of days at first, then not even until got out to my car. We opted for surgery, which was to take about 2-3 hours, but ended up taking closer to 6 hours because Dr' Lucas had a little trouble doing what needed to be done. But he stuck with it. Fused 3 discs using about 8 screws and 2 cages. After 8-10 weeks, slow recovery, I can now do things I used to do 20 years ago, and my back feels better than it's felt in 30 years. I highly recommend Dr. Lucas and his team to anyone.

Dr. Lucas listened to and answered all my questions and concerns about having spinal fusion surgery. Previously, I had seen a neurosurgeon with another practice and had put off the surgery for 18 years. Dr. Lucas gave me hope. After Dr. Lucas preformed my surgery, the next day I was able to walk without severe pain. I can now walk without any assistance and without pain. My friends and family have been amazed by the results as well.

I was in extreme pain when I met with Dr. Lucas. He had me do an MRI, then went over in detail while showing me, what and how he could help alleviate most of my pain. He performed my surgery on Christmas Eve day, 2018. I am recovering well and no longer feel that intense pain. I'm off all opiate pain meds and I feel liberated, both physically and mentally! Dr. Lucas is one of the best surgeons in his field! Thank you for helping me, Dr. Lucas! My expectations were surpassed.

I couldn't walk without assistance when I went to see Dr. Lucas the first time. A year and a half later I climbed to the top of Table Rock. I am so happy that I have my life back. For 5 years I couldn't drive, work, play with my grandson, or walk very far. It was an extremely tough journey, I didn't enjoy it at all but I look at how far I have came from sitting and looking outside wanting to be out there so badly but nobody around to assist me. Now I can go outside whenever I want and not have to have a cane, walker or someone to help. I started to drive less than a year after my surgery I bought a car and got a job. I now work where I help others that find themselves in the same position I found myself in. I am so thank full for Dr. Emmett Lucas and his staff. If it wasn't for them I would of never had this journey. I would definitely recommend Dr. Emmett Lucas for back surgery. I have sent other to him as well and they are happy with their results. I would still be in so much agony if Dr. Emmett didn't do my surgery.

After Dr. Lucas recently performed a microdiscectomy on me, I feel like I have my life back. I am 100% better. While some of my appointments with him felt a bit rushed, in the one that mattered most prior to the surgery, he took quite a bit of time to walk me through my MRI; the procedure; the risks; and what to expect afterwards. Where I rate him highest is on the outcome of the surgery, which I could not be more thankful for having done (and so successfully).
