I broke my upper arm, humerus bone. A surgeon inserted a titanium bar secured by eight screws. After 1-1/2 yrs, 5 screws had pulled loose rendering the bar ineffective. I was in constant daily pain. Dr.St.Pierre agreed to take on my case. He planned on removing the now useless bar which would leave 16 holes in my arm bone to heal and insert a rod down the center. In surgery he saw a rod could not be done. He strategically attached a new bar. Now that my humerus was like swiss cheese and extremely fragile, he was adamant I wear a sling keeping my arm completely immobile for at least 3-6 months. I did and now seven months later I am healed. Dr. St.Pierre has a respectful, no-nonsense approach and is candid in his diagnoses. If your need is to be babysat or your hands held don't waste yours or his time. There are people like me who desperately needs his expertise, knowledge and skill. If needed to show my utmost appreciation, I would wave a banner on a street corner, using my healed arm.

Rotator cuff surgery was demanded by a car accident. Dr. StP was excellent as was his PA. Had some surgeons tell me recovery was 12-18 months. Dr. StP said 6 months if you follow his instructions which I did to the max. His instructions? I followed his exercise routine without a physical therapist. Three daily sessions started with only 2-3 minutes of range of motion exercises on day one after surgery. Not comfortable but done anyway. I was provided a specific set of exercises to complete every month. Each sessions started out slowly with only minor success (maybe 30% of expectations) in the first 1.5 weeks but by the end of the month I was at the expected level. New exercises each month followed the same pattern. Slowly at first and by the end of the month I had made it to the next level. At the end of six months I was done. Now its time to get my life back seeing if I can now use my repaired shoulder. The bottom line? DO YOUR EXERCISES EACH AND EVERY DAY.

Dr. St. Pierre is a master at diagnosing and treating Orthopedic impairments. He took time to explain my surgical procedure and recuperation making sure that I felt comfortable and confident in his approach. He and his staff are personable and have great bedside manner! Following my shoulder surgery and his recommended 'at home' physical therapy exercises, I healed up quickly and I am pain free -- well beyond his expectations for the procedure. He is a wonderful doctor and I recommend him to all that are in need for any 'shoulder' repair here in the Palm Desert area!

Not only does Dr.St.Pierre have a good sense of humor, and a caring attitude, but as a surgeon he is awesome. I completed an expected 9 month recovery in 6 months just by following his instructions. Almost painless surgery. For a reference check his backround, starts at West Point. Then his current affiliations here in the Coachella Valley. Dr. St.Pierre is a rare find, youll not find better.

After 25 years of limited use of my right arm, Dr. St. Pierre gave me back the use of my arm. I now have 90% range after two months. This was more than I hoped for. I cannot thank the doctor and staff enough.

I am an older man who was suffering a shoulder problem. I had tried to lift something at work, and immediately felt a sharp pain in the shoulder. Also, in addition to the sharp pain whenever I used it,there was a constant ache. And when I went running, it felt like it was going to fall out of the socket. Of course, I went to a doctor. He said it was just arthritis, and gave me pain pills. Months later, I tried another doctor, who took yet more x-rays, and said it was impingement. He offered me cortizone shots. Finally, I had an MRI, which didn't show anything. Then I was sent to physical therapy, which was agonizing, and made things worse, not better. At that point, I was told that this was just symptomatic of men "in my age group." I.E. "go home and wait for death." Finally, I went to St Pierre, who decided something was wrong. He was right, and he fixed up the cartilage. I'm still recovering, but already the constant ache is gone, and the rest of it is improving week by week.

Both my front and back rotator cuffs and biceps tendon were completely severed and Dr. St. Pierre is magic! He is an excellent surgeon and I had full shoulder rotation in just 7 weeks. He gave me the option to purchase an ice machine, which cost $150 and I did so. He told me it would promote healing and reduce inflamation. He also warned me about lifting anything with that arm until it was healed. I took time off work, lived on the ice machine and I experienced very little pain. I followed all of his recommendations and between his expert surgical techniques, knowledge, advice which I followed and the ice machine, I am now 6 months past surgery and forget that I ever had a problem. Before surgery, my arm was so bad that it felt like it was disconnected from my shoulder so I will forever be thankful for a surgeon who is as skilled as Dr. St. Pierre and one who tells you what you need to do so you recover completely. The rest is up to the patient to follow the advice given.

Dr. St. Pierre was the surgeon I chose for my rotator cuff surgery in Nov. 2011. He outlined all possibilities to me on how we would approach my shoulder problem he isn't a doctor who wants to jump right in to cutting. However, after an MRI we decided that surgery was the only solution. Dr. Pierre is extremely knowledgable, professional and caring. I was impressed by his bedside manner in that he explained every detail to me before and after surgery and even provided me with a DVD of the operation. I performed all my re-hab stretching and physical therapy as instructed by him and I am happy to say that I am back to playing golf again in less than 5 months. I would highly recommend Dr. St. Pierre to anyone in need of any type of shoulder surgery.
