In 5 min, he asks me where I have pain, then quickly he puts in the needles and he's gone. When it's done, the nurse comes in and pull out the needles and off you go. All other acupuncturists I know would carefully adjust the needles, sometimes add low volts, set up infrared lamps, and when it's done, it's the doctor who would come in to pull the needles out. And then ALL the other acupuncturists would finalize their session with 10-15 minutes of acupressure/massage over the needled or other related areas - the part that's nearly as effective as the acupuncture itself. He charged double for my first visit - $250 for the 5 min of consultation, and $215 for the acupuncture treatment! All other acupuncturist if they charge me for consultation, these are usually 15-20 min detailed, complete, thorough consultations. On my 5th "acupuncture treatment" visit, without my knowledge, he changed it to a consultation without doing any acupuncture.
