Dr. Leonard J. Brazil has been my Orthopedic Surgeon for the past 19 years. I have Osteoarthritis and have had several surgeries on my hands by Dr. Brazil.
Not only has he taken great care of my hands, but he is wonderful to speak with at every appointment. It’s rare to find a physician as outstanding as Dr. Brazil that combines such personal touches and care for his patients.
I feel so fortunate to have Dr. Brazil as my physician and I highly recommend him!
Thank you Dr. Brazil

I found Dr Brazil to be very knowledgeable and personable. He was quick to explain things in language I could understand, laid out my options and competently performed my procedure. In a busy office the wait was not too long and the staff friendly and professional. Overall,I would enthusiastically recommend Dr Brazil.

The reason I go to a doctor is for their knowledge and ability. Dr Brazil is the best hand surgeon you are going to find. He may be the only hand doctor in Chico, but go outside Chico to Sacramento, Marysville, Redding, San Francisco......he is still the best and only one that I would see. I do not go for his bedside manner...which is great, or his staff...which are nice, I go to be healed to the best of the ability of the doctor. He is a busy man, you want conversation call a friend and get a cup of coffee. As a doctor he is kind, compassionate, and very knowledgeable and very able!

This guy is super. I had been treated for a dog bite on my hand by two other Drs. My hand was not healing and the infection was still increasing. My son (a surgeon in TX suggested Dr Brazil.). From the first visit I knew things were going to get better. I had a list of 15 questions ready for him and he took the time to answer them all. He took his time, was interested in my well being and was very thorough. In my experience with Drs from SF to Chico, this guy is great. He is my type of Dr. : to the point, complete, knowledgable, interested, and everything else you want from your Dr. I would recommend him to everyone from my mother (90yrs) to my youngest grand kid (1 yr). You can't do any better than Dr. Brazil.

Dr.Leonard Brazil 3-2013 carpal tunnel as well as some sort of surgery at base of thumb for osteoarthritis. After the dr ignored my concerns as the surgery he did on thumb has altered the anatomy of my hand leaving me with a large bony bump as well as daily pain, I went to ucsf orthopaedic center for 2nd opinion. Dr there said she wasn't sure what dr brazil did but they would have performed a different surgery. After continued pain a nerve conduction study showed I still have carpal tunnel syndrome. I am very disappointed that brazil was soo very arrogant as he barely would look at my hand after surgery. NO ACCOUNTABILITY!!!It has been said that he is the best hand surgeon in Chico. What a dope I was!! He is the only hand surgeon in chico. He is NOT the best by any stretch of the imagination. Trust your instinct at your first appointment with him. His arrogance is unbelievable and most importantly DR.BRAZIL DOESN'T CARE ABOUT HIS PATIENTS WELL BEING IS REALLY THE BOTTOM LINE HERE. !!!

THIS IS THE WORST DOCTOR I HAVE BEEN TO SO FAR!!! I have gone to him twice. The first time was for my wrists. The doctor was very rushed and hardly gave me any consultation. My insurance didnt cover everything not their fault I know, but I had told them ill wait to schedule another appointment so I can get my insurance sorted out. Well 3 weeks later I get a bill in the mail saying I missed an appointment I never made! Now the second time (still pending) is for my foot. Workers comp sent the request for appointment on the 29th of December. After not hearing from them for 2 weeks I called to ask why they have not made an appointment. After several days of calling I finally found out my previous bill that went to collections needed to be paid before they will do anything. Paid that, and now a week and a half later I still have yet to get an appointment. All they could tell me is "The paperwork is on the doctors desk he will get to it as soon as he can". HORRIBLE
