I was referred by primary Dr for menopause challenges. Dr. Lehrman stated she had never heard of my symptoms. I left feeling like a bigger freak, these things are hard to talk about.. I later found a nutritionist who had a complete understanding of the hormonal system and could pinpoint the exact issue to my symptoms (luteinizing hormone) which gave me peace of mind. Going through the process with Dr. Lehrman was far more time intensive, and gave me zero answers. While the nutritionist was less invasive, less expensive, and more knowledgable. I think its time to clarify what "specializing in menopause" means.
