I can only give you my experience and it has always been good with Dr Martorell. He is softspoken and I often have trouble hearing him so it is very hard for me to believe that he could ever be rude as some on here say. He always has read my chart before he comes in and also takes any additional info from other doctors that I bring. After the initial wait of three months to get into him I have never waited for more than 10 minutes at his office. I am a person who prefers to use alternative therapies so I use a lot of ginger and turmeric and Sam-e but when Dr Martorell said I needed to go on Plaquini I felt pretty trusting of this man and I take a low dose because I felt strongly that he knows what he is doing. The staff has always been pleasant to me also.

I waited 2 months for my appointment & when I went to the office it was full. I see why now. He is a good doctor. He is really helping me & treating my arthritis & not just giving me medication for pain like other doctors. The staff is also very sweet & nice. I now understand the long waits its like when we are going to a good restaurant, they are full and have long waits but it is worth it.

This guy has the nerve to call himself a professional doctor, what a joke. He's very unprofessional and anyone needing support documents get ready to pay through the nose. His office past my documents around the office giving erroneous information that caused my disability filing to be declined. I would never recommend this office to my worse enemy.

The staff is great very kind and helpful. The waits are long however there is always a lot of people waiting. I guess it’s because they are really good. I don’t mind the wait that much because the good things are worth waiting for. I do recommend.

I will not recommend this practice to anyone. Auto-immune diseases are complex and hard enough, it is crucial to have adequate care and a doctor who listens. Dr. Martorell does not provide that, unfortunately. More details for my rating. Staff: You are lucky if they ever answer the phone. Never got a single call back. I left them voicemails on multiple ocassions and my calls went ignored. I witnessed staff being very rude towards patients. Very unprofessional. Not all staff were rude but it made for very uncomfortable visits.
Punctuality: The waits got longer and longer. One day they called me to postpone an appointment because the doctor was not going to be in the office. The person gave me one option and when I told her that date would not work, she became rude and gave me an appointment for three weeks later. She refused to provide a more reasonable date even though I told her I had a flare up.
Helfulness: the doctor is very dismissive and did not like to answer my questions. Very good doctors discuss at least the most important tests from bloodwork results. Dr. Martorell does nothing and brushes off questions. He treated me in a condescending manner several times.
Knowkedge: Hard to assess because he won’t answer questions properly. He did prescribe a medicine that helped alleviate some of my symptoms even though the flare up continued.

My sister went in to see dr edgar martorell for her lupus condition. She was looking to change her doctor because her current doctor's practice is too large and overwhelmed. She drove over an hour to see this "doctor" since following a recommendation. The doctor's staff was kind and understanding however, dr edgar martorell was dismissive, uninterested, and at times rude. Very unprofessional. She asked the nurse to ask the doctor to come back to the room since she forgot to ask a question regarding a pain on her hip and she could hear the nurse inform the doctor out in the hall that she wanted to see him. The doctor's response was that he was done with her and directed the nurse to tell my sister that he had other patients to see and could not deal with her. If he is supposed to be some sort of LUPUS specialist then he must know how much stress can be harmful, and he caused her an immense amount of stress today. Where is his bedside manner? What about do no harm? I'm very upset and will be spreading the news to all who will listen of her experience. You have no idea what physical and emotional stress you have caused her today.

Unfortunately the staff seems nice but the dr unprofessional not knowledgable and umcompassionate the only reason he appears to have almost 4 stars is because of the staff not him. So if u do rate him negatively put staff bad so you give him bad rating. I think it is false advertisement and he is lucky he has great staff somethings he lack
