I have seen Dr. Johnson about 4 times. He has been a very good doctor. He is easy to talk to about your pain issues and I feel he genuinely cares about helping you feel better so you can function and work. He took time to talk on every office visit and never made me feel rushed or as if my health issues were not important. The office staff have been friendly and caring.

Very rude and judgemental . They don't care how you feel, they don't treat you as a person, more like a paycheck

ALTOONA, Pa. -- A Blair County doctor and business man finds himself in trouble with the law.John Johnson was indicted by a federal grand jury on charges he kept his employees payroll taxes instead of sending them to the government.John Johnson is well-known as an anesthesiologist and business owner in Altoona. About a year-and-a-half ago, federal agents raided his office along with one of his businesses, and now he is facing some pretty serious charges form the feds. After a year-and-a-half-long investigation, a federal grand jury indicted pain management doctor John Johnson Tuesday. The 11-count indictment names Johnson, saying he kept employees taxes instead of turning them over to the IRS. According to court documents, from July 2013 until December 2014, Johnson allegedly pocketed more than $700,000 from his employees taxes. The scope of the withholding here that was not paid to the IRS is very large U.S. Attorney David Hickton said. So we take very seriously the statutes that have been passed by congress that provide for these payments and people simply are not entitled to pick and choose which laws they are going to follow.&In March 2014, federal agents raided Johnson office on East Walnut Street, and his business Johnny on the Spot car wash. WJAC-TV spoke with one former employee who didn't want to be identified. She said she worked for Johnson at his East Walnut Street office for two years starting in 2012 and shared her reaction.& I am not surprised,& the woman said. To take that much money from employees, that is a bit much. She said during her two years working in his office, she rarely saw Johnson. She said 15 people worked in the billing office. WJAC-TV looked up records with the state Board of Medicine and found out Johnson & license remains active. It was last renewed in October 2014. A spokesperson said they cannot comment specifically on this case, but said in certain cases, if a doctor is convicted of a crime, they could face the disciplinary board which could take away their license. Hickton said Johnson could face 55 years in prison and $110,000 fine, if convicted.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office wants to permanently confiscate nearly $40,000 from an Altoona-area pain clinic doctor under investigation on suspicion of conspiring with a Westmoreland County drug-testing lab to defraud insurance companies, Medicare and Medicaid.

Prosecutors this week said in court papers that Dr. John Johnson, an anesthesiologist and owner of Lighthouse Medical, a series of six pain clinics, engaged in a kickback scheme with William J. Hughes, owner of Universal Oral Fluid Laboratories in Greensburg.

Prosecutors said Mr. Hughes and his lab paid doctors kickbacks so they would exclusively use the lab for drug testing of all oral swabs that doctors took from patients.

The lab billed private insurers, Medicaid and Medicare and then paid a kickback to the doctors who made the referrals, according to the FBI.

Prosecutors said Mr. Hughes discussed with Dr. Johnson how to “ramp up” swabbing to the insurance companies with the largest kickback potential to increase their illegal profits.

Universal Oral and Mr. Hughes paid Dr. Johnson $2 million between 2011 and 2013, according to the FBI. In addition, Dr. Johnson billed insurers for tests that were never performed or unnecessary, agents said.

On March 19, the FBI and IRS raided Dr. Johnson’s medical office on Walnut Avenue in Altoona and his home and seized $39,000.

Prosecutors previously moved to forfeit $754,000 seized from Mr. Hughes.

They also moved this week to forfeit a 1999 Bentley Azure seized from Jeffrey Alan Thomas in Aliquippa, who ran the day-to-day operations for Universal Oral lab.

The U.S. attorney’s office said the Bentley was a gift to Mr. Thomas from Mr. Hughes.

Dr Johnson allows his employees to have too much autonomy within the practice. Nurse practitioners and PA's make up rules as they go. He is supposed to be my doctor yet I've never met him in well over two years that he's been listed as my doctor since another doctor left the practice.

Dr Johnson is a great doctor. The problem lies with Lighthouse Medical in Windber where everything must go thru. I used to love how well the office I attend worked. They have opened new offices, lost doctors, service declined. You have to wait 3 or more months for injection. When needing assistance, you get the call center in Windber & they treat customers so RUDE. They will NOT connect you to the location you attend. After a few days of not getting an answer, I must get in my car & drive a 1/2 hour & physically walk into the office if I want an answer. If you have tests done or another doc sends info it never gets scanned into your file. I think this may be a HIPPA issue as where is my paperwork-in a stack or floating out there in cyber space? After 4 months, I asked my doc to give me a written copy so I could take to the pain clinic so the PA had what he needed. When will top management see that their new procedure with Windber is NOT working? Also additional docs are needed!
