Dr. Luciano was pretty good until I had an 11 day EEG at NYU Medical Center in 2012. My complex partial seizures had stopped 2 weeks prior. Yes, thanks to him because of prescribing a medication that finally worked. BUT 2 months later, auras returned. He blamed the 2 aura symptoms on anxiety. A second seizure drug was added for alertness in 2014, so the auras stopped in 2015.
I then had 2 grand mal non-epileptic seizures in 2020. Dr. Luciano refused to believe the EMT that they were seizures, despite grand mals stopping after emergency medication. 6 new auras formed after my 2020 emergency. I got brave to force him to do a 72 hour EEG early 2024. All 6 aura symptoms were seizures. Yes, all 6 that he said "That doesn't sound like a seizure" to me. I even started to have complex partial seizures again in 2021. "That's anxiety" he'd say, despite my EEGs showing seizure brainwaves every year. "Maybe your brainwaves were abnormal from lack of sleep or caffeine."
Dr. Daniel Luciano tells me, "I don't know" to every question. How did he get hired if he doesn't know anything?! He points fingers and blames every seizure symptom on anxiety, eye problems, so on. He does not care about his patients. He only likes the money he earns. I advise to not use him.

He told me that because my EEG was normal I was mentally ill and making up my symptoms (I’m a young woman— obviously). He recommended that I see a therapist and read a book about how to stop pretending to be sick.
Turns out, I have a heart disorder. I’m very thankful I got a second opinion. If not, I would still be having symptoms and thinking I’m just a crazy person like he told me.

Awful physician. Poor bedside manners , does not listen to you whatsoever and will just prescribe you some sort of psychotropic medication under the false notion that “ it is safe.” I took it for three days and did not like the adverse reactions , at times I felt like I was convulsing. Abandoned the medication and my anxieties gotten worse as well as I suffer from insomnia that I fear will never go away. Inconsiderate and can care less about your well being, just concerned with the money.

I have been a patient of Dr. Luciano since 2007. He is brilliant, tried one medication after another until my seizures stopped, knows everything. Fixed my sleep issues, helped with my anxiety, and much more. My only complaint is that he is too quick. I am very slow at thinking from Fibromyalgia, and used to be slow while on Lyrica in 2009-2010. He just quickly asks basic questions ("Any seizures?"), then quickly leaves after a few simple tests (walk, eyes...). He never asks if I have any questions, so while on Lyrica, he already left when I found the words to state my question (hard to talk/remember). I wish he'd be slower paced. I recommend bringing in a paper with a list of all your questions to not forget them.

Dr Luciano and his staff are both terrific. Dr Luciano is kind, caring and truly helpful. He helped diagnose my issue and provide the right treatment. He follows up regularly and makes adjustments as necessary.

He knows everything, not just epilepsy, has stopped so many of my problems-not only epileptic. He cares and listens, very understanding. He cured my seizures after trying one medication after another. He has stopped so many psychological issues I've had, while my psychiatrist hasn't stopped one! Dr. Luciano has helped me with sleep, anxiety, mental focus, hypoglycemia, fibromyalgia, and countless other things. He knows everything! Best doctor I've ever known the past 25 years of epilepsy.

Very sad to say that Dr. Luciano has lost business due to his staff. They are the least responsive, most rude and condescending folks you'll encounter. Time to change to a physician who stays current

Back on December 3, 1991, Dr. Devinsky and Dr. Luciano did brain surgery on me because I had epilepsy. I went thru months of testing. On the day of surgery, I had my last seizure. I had epilespy since I was a child, about 7 years old. Now, 24 years later after surgery, thanks to these wonderful doctors, I am still seizure free. I have a driver's license, three beautiful children and a normal life. I am one of those people that had a miracle happen. But most of all, I must thank Dr. Gerber who knew these doctors and guided me to see them. I'm sure they don't remember me because I was just one in hundreds of patients they treated. I can't explain how greatful I am and I thank you everyday of my seizure free life. THANK YOU!!!!!
