I feel fortunate to be cared for by Dr. Haas and his staff. Dr. Haas is a busy surgeon but his staff is so organized that all preliminary needs are met before you actually meet with Dr. Haas at which time any and all questions and concerns are 100% met. We were not sure what they would find with the tests that were available but everything was taken care of. My surgery came off without incident. No unwanted reactions. My recovery has been unremarkable, no problems. I would highly recommend this care and highly thankful for the outcome.

My father was diagnosed with diverticulitis two years ago and it was a fact that at some point he would have to have surgery. We looked at many options and opinions of doctors in Mexico without really having confidence that everything would be fine. At that time we also went to other colon specialists but they told us that her case was not so serious and that she could wait a little longer. However, we understood my father's situation and immediately contacted Dr. Haas and sent him the results of the studies. We were surprised that within a few hours he contacted us and was really interested in taking care of the case. And even though we had our insecurities, the truth is that we made the best decision by leaving my dad's health and life in their hands. We are very grateful from our hearts and with God for having found Dr. Haas and all his team.

I was told when I booked my appointment that they might run late, so that wasn’t a problem. The staff overall is great, but I did have an issue with one person who was unwilling to document the doctor’s instructions. Everyone else was wonderful.

Dr. Haas is very knowledgable. As others have said I did not see him after the surgery - or before the surgery; other doctors did the pre-op consultation at the hospital. He is efficient, but that can make for some fast and impersonal examinations. For me, the most important thing was having Dr. Haas perform my surgery.

In spite of his busy schedule, Dr. Haas is very empathetic and takes time to listen to and answer the patient's questions. He understands the needs and anxieties of his patients. He was extremely thorough in reviewing my case. His Nurse Practitioner and office staff are excellent in facilitating appointments and managing wait-time expectations.

Dr Haas and his team's office is chaotic and unorganized, it’s difficult getting in touch with anyone and you must diligently follow up yourself or you will not get answers/results or be provided with proper aftercare. His surgical skills may be exceptional, but he is extremely arrogant, he was dismissive of my pain, did not address all of my concerns on multiple visits and he gaslit me.
He did not see me after my surgery, did not follow up with the hospital to ensure proper diet was followed, and I learned the extent of my surgery by requesting the operative report. When I spoke to him about extreme post-surgical pain, he denied providing inappropriate aftercare (his pre-op appointment contradicted this), claimed my pain existed pre-surgery (not accurate), and stated multiple times that I should appreciate what he did for me.
In another encounter, he made me wait for 4 hours on the portal for the follow up appointment, and every time I would disconnect because of long wait times, his office would call me within minutes to ask me to get back on the portal and wait for him as he was ready for me. He never showed up claiming he had surgery, but they failed to reschedule me and continued to insist I remain on the portal waiting for him.
If you choose to work with Dr Haas and his team, demand post-surgery follow up and proper aftercare procedures. Prepare yourself for a successful procedure and recovery by being your own most diligent advocate.
