I had utilized Dr Weinstock in 2000 for my LASIK surgery with amazing results and an excellent staff. Unfortunately in 2020-2021 not the same excellent experience. After almost 6 months &two surgeries in my current interactions with Dr. Ho- I can only really appreciate how amazing Dr Weinstock was. In October, following my retina detachment, I contacted Dr. Weinstock’s office to try to secure my records from my past excellent experience with my LASIK surgery. The assistant i spoke with seemed helpful & referred me to their office in Tampa where their retina specialist was. I went in for my initial consult where Dr Ho notified me I had a detached retina&needed urgent surgery for my dire situation. Dr Ho proceeded to quote a rate of over $2300 -which would include my follow up visits post surgery-my mother also heard her say this price for the aforementioned services. On November 2,2020 Dr . Ho performed my surgery. I did my follow up post surgery appointments with Dr Ho. On 3/3/2021 after my brief observation by Dr Ho-I was charged for this visit as well as my brief follow up visit this afternoon on 4/2/2021.
I have subsequently now over paid almost $600 to Dr.Ho for these unexpected charges beyond the quoted price for my surgery&follow up appointments. It is unfortunate when money supersedes the quality of a doctors concern for correcting their patients problem&then charging excessively over agreed upon price surgery&post surgery!!! I must warn anyone going into their South Tampa office-BEWARE!!the dark haired receptionist is the absolutely RUDEST person I have ever had the misfortune of having to interact with in any ‘professional’ setting!!!! Really upset over this situation created by dismissing the care of a patient for the acquisition of the patient’s money!!!Really a pitiful money grab!!!!

I've been working with her for a year and love working with her and the staff and The Eye Institute of West Florida. She always makes sure to check if I have questions and if so, explains the answer very clearly.
