Dr. Kevin Gill is the best ortho/neuro surgeon in the state of Texas and probably the US

I cant say enough about him. He did my surgery he is very conservative minually invasive

He is more than AWESOME. I would do surgery again tomorrow. Back surgery is a scary word not with Dr. Gill

I wish I could have done It with him 6months ago I suffered for a year because all the other Orthos wanted to do an L4 and L5 fusion and Dr. Gill said I didn't need it.

He is a wonderful man caring and giving cares more about the patient and not the money he will make.

Extremely hard to come by today. I will do surgery again with him tomorrow if I had to.

If you do need surgery Dr. Gill is your man. You will not be sorry trust me. I hope this helps someone. He explains everything to you for as long of a time when you need it. Good Luck to you! Jill K

I dealt with lower back pain for over 6 years. I’d had injections, PT, chiropractic care, massage therapy, etc. I had no relief. After dealing with so many doctors with uninterested attitudes I felt like giving up. The last doctor I’d spoken with told me the only option I had was a fusion. I have young kids and really didn’t see that as the best option for me. A friend of mine told me about Dr. Gill so I felt like I’d give it a try. I called and made an appointment. The best thing I could have ever done. His professionalism and genuine care for me was overwhelming. I couldn’t hold back the tears because he made me feel that he was going to take care of me and my pain. I would recommend him to any and everyone that’s dealing with back pain. He gave me my life back

in 2014 I saw Dr Gill for over a year while we worked to get insurance to cover the TDR. After a lot of work we finally got an approval. Dr Gills staff responded to each of my messages and questions ahead of time but I was nervous about proceeding. On the morning of surgery Dr Gill came to see me before the operation and did not hesitate to speak with me candidly about the operation and my fears about moving ahead. I decided to cancel my operation literally moments before they were going to put me asleep (IV was already in me) and Dr Gill could not have been nicer or more professional. I feel that he truly helped me make the right decision in my case and I very much appreciate his professionalism.

This is a hard review to write as I too thought very highly of Dr. Gill. However, that all changed a few years ago. He does not return calls, monitor progress or problems and has no coordination of follow up conditions and therapy. Although the utsw facilities have improved, you are now just a number lost in a bureaucratic nightmare and the doctors seem oblivious to the fact that you get treated like you are at the DMV when you try to get service. They hide behind there new applications and phone system. Dr. Gill failed to inform that there were mass failures of the device he put in me.
He had not prepared me at all for my next steps to deal with known problems. So he probably is a great surgeon but you will just be a number and ignored after the procedure.

He an absolutely a jerk and has no bed side manners. His surgical skills are pathetic. He caused a nerve injury and kept on lying for first few times and never wanted to see me again. I will never recommending going to him.

Doctor Gill was the first doctor that was worried about my diabetes. He didn't want to do the surgery until my A1C was at 7. The other doctors didn't have a concern about my number but Dr. Gill did. He had educated me on something. Thanks

I absolutely love Dr. Gill. I just had a fusion last month. He is the most knowledgeable doctor I've ever met. I don't know why some people have an issue with his bedside manner. Yes he is direct but in a very friendly and warm manner. When he came to check on me after my surgery he cared only about my comfort. He spent alot of time talking to me wss not rushed at all. Granted it was 6 in the morning but who sleeps in the hospital anyway.lol would highly recommend him. Less than a month after my fusion I am almost pain free. I just went to my last visit. He showed me my xray and told me I was good to go and if I felt I wasn't doing as well as I thought then come back in March and he would take a look. He let's you decide on returning to work based on how you feel not on what a books says you should be returning. I would never trust anyone else with my spine after this. I can not stress enough how intelligent and caring he is. Going to him is the best choice I've ever made regarding my spine.

Dr Gill did my First surgery in 1991. I'd been told by TWO other surgeons that I'd probably never walk without assistance again. WRONG. He did a spectacular fusion that lasted almost 20 years. I was injured again and he first did a decompression laminectomy then 3 months later did a laminectomy with intervertebral instrumentation. I was up walking in the recovery room. He's the BEST in his field and the ONLY person I trust with my spine.

Thank You.

During my visit Dr. Gill did not examine me but just recommended an MRI because he stated that the X-rays detailing abnormalities were not informative. After the MRI results came in he declined a second appointment to explain the findings of the MRI. He only told the nurse to call to tell me that my spine problems were the same as what one would expect from most 70-year old's but did not explain why some 70-year olds do not have lower back pain. He did not recommend a course of action except to tell me to go see a pain specialist. That is not what one would expect from an expert.
