It takes 6+ wks to see him for the next appt and every time I'm there, it's routine check up. I dont have insurance so I pay out of pocket and if Im not paying $480 for blood work Im there for the routine check up and pay $150 when this can be done over the phone really. Bc I travel all the time for work, there was a time when I was not able to make 2 appts- and he had refused to treat me per his asst. This was a yr ago and and it still leaves a bad taste in my mouth. i dont wish to pay $150 to go see you when I dont have major medical problems and this was something that could've definitely been understood as a caring medical provider but I didnt appreciate the threat.

Fabulous Doctor and I have seen over 200 in the last twenty years. When scheduling urgent appointments, make sure that you ask for his "overbook" appointments. They have a new office that's gorgeous. I LOVE his Nurse, Zida. She always gets right back to me aInd the front desk staff is extremely polite. The only bad thing is that he doesn't always run on time; however, that's because he NEVER rushes an appointment. He takes the time to answer all of your questions and explain everything fully.

My husband and I both see Dr. Heller. He is up to date on all meds and procedures. He and his staff, from the front door throughout, are wonderful, on time, helpful and it's a pleasure to work with each of them. Any bad reviews - the folks were probably feeling bad or upset with themselves for waiting until the last minute. The building is established and clean.

Dr Heller is a warm, competent doctor who spends time with patients. That said, I never returned after my one and only. The office is a complete dump - it's dirty and hasn't been painted in years. The office staff is straight out of a public health clinic - rough and snippy. The bathroom had broken fixtures and the tiolet paper was on the ground - I let the office staff know who shrugged and said the yes, the holder had been broken for a while. The doctors who own the complex should fix it up, clean it and train the office staff to act as if they are there for the patients. If you are from North Dallas, you've probably never been to an office like this or treated like this.

I had a thyroidectomy 10 years ago. I contacted Dr. Heller as a new patient. There was a 6 week wait to see him. Because of my surgery, I must take replacement hormone. I realized I was going to run out 10 days before my appointment. I called to see if I could have thyroid labs done in advance and if I could get a prescription for the 10 days I would be missing. I realize I would be a new patient, so I asked to have a nurse call me back. It took two days to get a call back, and I believe the woman had was a receptionist. She said no to both of my requests. I told her I would have to take half doses the last 10 days, and she said that was fine! I was truly shocked by that. Fortunately, I found much more service oriented endocrinologist who was happy to help with both requests. Skip this practice. I can't imagine what it would be like if I had a serious problem!

I have been a pt of Dr.Heller for almost 3 years. He has helped me so much in managing my parathyroid and thyroid issues. In the beginning of my quest for a physician that could help me control my lack of parathyroid hormones, Dr. Heller took the time to call me on an every day basis and check up on me to see how I was doing. I was not an established pt of his at that point. I have high regards and respect for this physician and has been very exceptionally professional and concern for my care/health.

My husband and I have been patients of Dr. Heller for several years. He is professional, knowledgeable, current regarding endocrinology, and patient oriented. We have benefited from his expertise when other doctors have given us either erroneous or outdated information. We recommend him highly.

Dr Heller has been awesome. After passing kidney stones for 20+ years . he has kept me stone free for the pass 4 years. Dietary and prescriptions. Probably less prescriptions if I would learn to eat right. He has always taken the time to LISTEN and then advise on next step. Wonderful bedside manners.
