One of the worst "doctor" experiences ever. Dr Bogar couldn't diagnose me, so she referred me to Emory. In order to get an appointment though, they needed a physician referral, so they asked me to ask my PCP (Dr. Bogar) to send all my medical records to them, along with a letter stating what was going on and what they had tried. I called Dr. Bogar's office back and told them this. The young lady that answered the phone, said "ok, I'll et Dr Bogar know." That was on a Monday. On Thursday, when I still had not heard from anyone, I called back. The girl that answered the phone this time, was different, and had no idea what I was talking about, and said there was nothing in my file about this. A little frustrated, but appeased, as this girl seemed like she cared and would help me. She promised shed call me back the next day. Which she did. She asked that I have all my medical records faxed to her, so she could compile them all, and then she'd send them over to Emory all at once. I had already seen 3 or 4 doctors trying to get a diagnois - and it took about 2 weeks for all the medical records to get sent. Finally, on June 16, the last doctor faxed my records to Bogar's office. I called the next day to make sure they were received and to see if they could send them to Emory. The young lady that I had been speaking with said she would. On Monday the 20th, she called and said she just sent everything (couple of day delay - but no biggie). Emory's website says that you should expect to hear from someone within 5 business days. Which would be by Friday the 24. I had scheduled surgery that day, so didn't make any follow up calls that day, or the first few days of the following week - as I was still recovering from surgery. Having not heard from anyone as of Wednesday - 6/29, I called Dr. Bogar's office and asked if they had heard anything back yet....the young lady that I had been speaking with said "no, not yet." So today, just for kicks....I called Emory, and they said that they JUST got my stuff yesterday (on 6/29)!! HUH? They told me that they faxed it two weeks ago!!! So, obviously quite upset as I felt like I had been lied to, and experiencing pain and constant numbness, being in desperate need of a diagnosis - I left a message for Dr. Bogar to call me. She did.....but not to apologize for the way everything was handled, and to try to talk me off the ledge....she instead took the time to yell at ME as though I had done something wrong.....she was rude, condescending, and so completely unprofessional. She kept saying how she had to write a whole 1 page letter, and I should just be grateful that she didn't charge me for writing a letter, as most doctors would have. Excuse me? I did thank for all the time she put into writing a whole one page letter (gasp!!!), and sincerely hoped she didn't strain anything in doing so. Absolutely disgraceful....and truly shocking.
