I wouldn’t let this doctor near anyone I care about. He was distracted during the office visit as he was much more interested in the nurses out in the hallway. He told me to “come back when the pain is too bad” when I could barely walk. He and his staff completely ignored sending a prescription or following up after several phone calls. I saw another doctor just 2 weeks later who scheduled me for a hip replacement immediately and who could not understand how any competent doctor could ignore my presenting issues as he told me that any more of a delay would have crippled me. In retrospect I am blessed that this doctor didn’t treat me.

My mother ended up in the hosptial while out of state and broke her fingers and injured her hand. She was referred to Dr. Avallone (who she had seen before) for follow-up care within 2 weeks. She called to make an appointment THREE times and was told they would call her back. After her three calls over a 2 week period, I called. I was then told that he didn t want to take her on as a patient. Gee, thanks. Couldn t you have bothered to tell me that right away, and not wait for 2 weeks after receiving a FOURTH call?!? You don t want to take her case, fine. But have the decency to tell her. A reason wouldn t hurt. I found the receptionsts to be rather rude as well and gave me no information or help whatsoever. As a patient, I want compassionate care. You won t get it here.
