I came to be a patient of this doctor after being unhappy with another provider in the same specialty. Because of my situation I have had a few experiences with PM&R docs over the last decade and a half. Dr. Chandra is easily one of the most compassionate docs in this field. She listens, ask good questions, and takes an ACTIVE role in wanting you to have a quality of life. She was able to find a combination of medicine and other techniques that have given me a quality of life back. She ALWAYS treats me with the upmost respect and I truly believe she WANTS you to be better. Let me assure you, that is rare in this field. You wouldn't think so, but there are a LOT of docs that are so very jaded and make you feel as if this were something you wanted to be dealing with. I am a professional with a very busy job and a HEAVY travel schedule. I have a young family and without Dr. Chandra's help, I likely would not be living the great life that I am. Is everything perfect and am I pain free, absolutely not. But if that is what your expectation is, you will likely never be satisfied. Her staff is ALWAYS happy to do anything they can to help out. I have had last minute schedule changes due to my work schedule and travel schedule, and where in the past I would just be at the mercy of whatever appointment I made months in advance with my old doctor, with Dr. Chandra, she will bend over backwards to help work with my schedule. I my humble opinion, she and her team are among the best in this area of practice in the all of Kansas City. Other Docs in the same area would be served well to take a page our of Dr. Chandra's book and practice with the same empathy and care that she does.

Don't go to this doctor. Her exam of my son consisted of an xray through heavy cargo shorts with the zipper showing in the xray and poking him three times in the butt until he screamed. From that she diagnosed a fractured tailbone even though she told us the x-rays were inconclusive. Had she visually examined him, she would have seen the large, raised, red, hard, warm to the touch area i told her about and should have known it was an abscess. It was surrounded by cellulitis which we discovered 8 days later at the emergency room when it burst. He had many of the symptoms of both and I told her about them when I called because her combination of pain pills and anti-anxiety drugs weren't working. He had sweats and chills which she first said were from the pain pills and then was probably the flu. If she had just taken 30 seconds to examine the area, we would have been spared the agony and expense we suffered with ambulance to the ER, follow up visits, etc.
