Dr. Werd may well be one of the best podiatrists in the country. He is exceptionally knowable in sports medicine and is himself an amazing athlete. But he's great for old geezers like me too. Back during the early stage of the HIV/AIDS epidemic he and I sometimes gave papers to the same target audiences affected by this disease (I'm a virologist) and has written an excellent book on how to avoid being his patient by taking care of your feet. He is Past-President of the American Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine and is highly respected in Polk County for the many ways he has served this community.

I had extensive, painful reconstructed surgery on my foot including 2 screws that were inserted in the bone running alongside mt pinky toe. I spent 8 weeks flat on my back with my foot elevated, then 3 weeks in a boot. 2 two and a half years later these screws are coming out of the bone! They were suppose to remain in my foot I understood for the remainder of my life! My passion is hiking in the NC mountains now I can’t even wear hiking boots or most tennis shoes without pain!! I am EXTREMELY upset!!! When I made an appointment with Dr Werd he said, casually “well we can just take them out!!!” Also, when my over 40 stitches were removed it was excruciating and I have a high pain threshold. I would definitely NOT recommend Dr. Werd!!! However the office staff were excellent

Dr. Werd is very experienced and always willing to help his patients. He takes his time to make sure each patient is treated with the upmost respect and honest treatment. He is also very trustworthy and polite to work with. I would recommend him to my friends and family because of his extensive experience as a DPM

I was experiencing a lot of pain due to an ingrown toenail. Doctor Werd squeezed me in immediately to remove it. Instant relief! He's an excellent doctor- very knowledgeable and kind.

Dr.Werd is excellent - not only is he the best there is, he is also very personable and easy to talk to. Best in the area...recommend him highly! I had extensive foot surgery and have has wonderful results.

Great until after surgery from a bunion. Office staff was dishonest and tried to charge me unethically. Very disappointed, still foot problems one year after surgery. No help from Dr. Werd. Just taking my money dishonestly
