Way back when Dr. Gurwin was with Jordan Burke, he told me I had elevated intraocular pressure. When I was getting ready to pay at the front desk and asked if caffeine could raise intraocular pressure, he stood there sipping cup of coffee chatting with the front desk staff laughing at my question saying, "I hope not"....A rather unprofessional response given my concern as a patient that I might develop glaucoma.I hope as the years have gone by he's developed some more understanding of "bedside manner" and the fact that caffeine does, in fact, raise intraocular pressure. I never forgot his insensitivity and preferred Dr. Burke over him.

Was arrogant and unhelpful. Did not care to explain what he was doing and why.

Not going to the doctor at all would have had a better outcome than my visit to Dr. Gurwin. Not going is free and going cost me a $50.00 co-payment for my two second brush off by this doctor.

Dr Gurwin did not wash his hands before or after examining my infected eye. Shame on me for not stopping him. He said nothing about preventing infection.

Dr. Gurwin is a great doctor. He is always thorough in his exam and explains everything.
