Dr. Fischer saved my life. I have no terminal illness but have a rare condition, "visual snow" , that is largely unknown to most medical personnel. Before finding Dr. Fischer, I had shared my story with every doctor I had seen since 1984. In all those years, I was my own lone/best advocate to find answers that could lead me to a proper diagnosis, and ultimately an improved quality of life. Armed with the most recent research literature, I walked into Dr. Fischer's office and began to go through my story while showing her each article. I had come to her in desperation, seeking answers. Dr. Fischer not only listened, she had insight into options that I was unaware of. As Dr. Fischer's administrative staff kept knocking on the door to get her hurry up, she chose to ignore them and LISTEN to ME! I was in the midst of emotionally explaining my story. The fact that she chose to listen to her patient (desperately seeking answers) made me realize what a quality and doctor was seated before me. I felt validated for the first time in years. She did not marginalize me. She did not judge me or treat me as though I was "one of those". She listened, intently. When we were finished going through options, she explained what were the most plausible possibilities vs what could be ruled out. Dr. Fischer, not only found me credible, but seemed excited to help me along my journey. Ultimately, she referred me to an endocrinologist who provided additional options, which are still being explored. Dr. Fischer's knowledge of new scientific theories gave me hope and has enabled me to improve the way I interact with doctors. In an age where standard-of-care medicine struggles to keep up with research, I now have a better understanding of why it has been such a long hard rode to getting a proper diagnosis; but. I have hope of what the future may bring. I wish Dr. Fischer well and hope that St. Catherine's Hospital realizes the rare gem they have in her. She should be teaching at a research hospital where she can share her art for communicating and building a bond with patients. I cannot express how grateful I am to Dr. Fischer and how her belief in me and my story has truly changed my life.

I was diagnosed with chronic optic migraines, Dr Fischer took the time to really figure out how to treat and relieve my pain and prevent future attacks from happening. She really listens and she told me after one particular treatment that she was so worried about my well-being that she had a nightmare about ruining my wedding because of it (it was beautiful & perfect). That was when I knew I had the perfect MD that really cared! I have given out so many of her cards to many of my friends who need help or have a loved one in need. They report a fondness for her as well!

I was so very surprised at just how much time she spent with me. We talked for at least an hour or more, and not always about my condition, but life events. She was VERY caring, easy to talk to, and went into great depth about my options, side effects, and what she wanted to look for. I have never in my life had a doctor that took so much time with me, and was never in a rush. I only had to wait 10 minutes in the waiting room, but most of that was my fault for arriving on the dot and having paperwork to fill out, then I only waited maybe another 10 minutes for her in the room. I wish I could make her my primary.
