I tried to reschedule an appointment I had that was a follow-up to my cataract surgery and was told it would be a month. I explained that I was concerned about my eyes and not happy. I requested that my doctor call me and was told he doesn't do calls. I said that if I can't get a call I was going to go somewhere else. She said ok. A doctor that will not call his patient I would never see. That was the second call I made to his office regarding this. I think I will write a letter.

Wait times are inexcusable. I had been taking my 93-year old Mother to Dr Kovach’s Elmhurst office, but no longer. My Mother does not like change and has been going to this Doctor for many years. He was treating Mom for glaucoma and I found him to be very surgery happy. Her condition would become worse after every surgery until she finally had to have her left eye removed. He told Mom her cataracts had grown back and he could do laser treatment for that. Well, once again her sight worsened and when I question about that, he said it was nothing he did.
I insisted that Mom go to another Doctor before he destroyed her good eye too, because she had minimal vision in her good eye. We left him and now go to Wheaton Eye Clinic where Mom has received eye drops to keep the glaucoma from getting worse.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PRACTICE, TOO SURGERY HAPPY!!!!!!!

I was sent to Dr. Saad Ahmad because of a hole in my macula. He was understanding about a trip we had planned for some time and gave me good advise as to what to expect. Very pleased with this doctor.

Wait times for this doctor are awful! Sat for nearly two hours before finally seeing him, and then he left the examine room for 30 minutes before returning! He was in the middle of my examine but left to go examine someone else. I don't like anything about his office or him. Too eager to do surgery, too. Will be seeing someone else in another practice.

Dr. Kovach has no respect for his patient's time which is shown is his chronic lateness. He schedules too many patients too close together and the result is wait times of well over an hour....even for surgery. The surgery center where he does his surgeries has a notice posted specifically for his patients regarding the fact that he often runs late and that they are not responsible.

I was not pleased at all with my experience at Dr Kevin Kovach's office. For a basic eye exam and to inquire about a condition of mine, I was at his office for over two hours. He was not that helpful with my questions about my condition and just seemed to not listen to what I had to say. Plus while waiting for the eye exam there was a lot of confusion. I kept being asked the same questions and had several nurses come by and leave. I think there are major communication issues between Dr Kovach and his staff. Then when I finally got my eye exam, the nurse who administered it rushed me through it. She seemed to be irritated every time I asked to see a lens again. Lenscrafters and For Eyes have given me more professional eye exams than this office. Then they charged me $40 for it without notifying me that it would cost that much. When I made the appointment, I asked if they could perform my free annual eye exam and they said yes. Beware, do not come here.

I am writing on behalf of my 91 yo grandmother. Dr.K did her cataract surgeries. He tried to fix her astigmatism and failed, which caused her to need a second surgery on each eye. She now has lenses in her eyes. She is satisfied with the staff and their politeness. Her new glasses (bifocals this time) are simply no good to her at all. In the past she only used glasses for reading, and hung them around her neck. The new glasses are to be worn all the time, which she simply can't and won't do because she can't see through the top part or read through the bifocal either. She has resorted to using glasses that are nearly 30 years old instead. I am not pleased with the results and plan to find a new doctor for her.
