My Name is Claudia Ohlmann and I am a patient of Dr. Richard Rosenthal and Nexus Pain Specialists. I am being treated for chronic pain, a result of many conditions, illnesses, injuries, including more than forty surgeries. A few years ago I met someone at the hospital who also had a history of chronic pain, We became friends, sharing each other's similar struggles. He told me that he had finally gotten help from Nexus Pain Specialists and he insisted that he was so sure they could help me that he offered to pay for my treatment! He promised me it would change my life. And it did! We knew that I would never be pain free, but the relief I've had over the years has been remarkable. Dr. Rosenthal, Shane Green, the technicians and aides are all really exceptional, and are "family" to me. I gladly recommend them whenever I encounter someone suffering with any kind of pain.
Dr. Rosenthal is brilliant and is progressive in his research and on-going education. I'm certain that he constantly studies every new technology, method, procedure, and new development in his field. I've watched as he teaches, trains and mentors many who are just beginning to work towards their future in medicine. He is well-loved and respected.
Dr. Rosenthal is also very kind and considerate, and genuinely cares for his patients. He will never give up finding the best solution, procedure and plan to ultimately do whatever it takes to give help and comfort to all his patients.
While extreme or chronic pain can be depressing, Dr. Rosenthal gives you hope. He and his staff seem to share a common goal, which is to make you feel better, more comfortable, and to be happy.
I sincerely recommend Nexus and Dr. Richard Rosenthal.

Dr. Rosenthal is a terrible doctor. He told me that he could cure me and that it would be a simple procedure (radio frequency ablation) and all of my pain would go away. I couldn't be happier. However things did not go according to plan. We had a treatment plan set up, one that we both agreed to, but the rest of the treatment plan is something where he would not make as much money. So he came up with another cure and because I was desperate (they allowed me to live in very severe pain) and I did not know of any other options I said okay. This was a huge mistake. He make a mistake on the diagnostic nerve block in my neck and made my pain worse. This was when one of his staff members told me about Dr. Ockey. They said that he was a much better diagnostician and that he would be able to help me. So I went to Utah Valley Pain Management and saw Dr. Ockey. They gave me my life back. Nexus Pain Care allowed me to loose everything. I asked one of their staff members what level of pain that they would be acceptable for me to live with. He responded that a pain level of 5 or below is their goal. I saw them for months and I lived with a pain level of a 9 and that was okay for them. I would advise caution when you see them and if you do see them I hope that you have a better experience than I did there.

Dr Rosenthal is an incredible Dr! I have been going to his clinic for several years now and have nothing but good to say about him and his staff. I have always been treated with great care and respect. He has treated both my neck and back and has literally given me a lifestyle I was afraid would be gone forever. I have seen him for pain relief prior and after back surgery with fusion. I can walk without support and incredible pain. Not being dependant upon my family for care will make me forever grateful to Dr Rosenthal and his staff.

I went to Dr. Rosenthal with debilitating pain. He told me he thought he could cure me with radiofrequency ablation. While doing the diagnostic nerve block he injected too much dye to be able to see the nerve. He dug around in my neck for 10 minutes before telling me that he had injected too much dye and could not see the nerve. My pain had gone through the roof and I now had radiating pain to my thumb. Next he told me that he would just inject the local anesthetic which would block the pain from all the digging plus my original pain. So he went back at it and kept digging around and eventually just injected the local. I left his clinic and was not sure where to turn. I decided to look at his notes on the procedure. He just rubber stamped it with a standard response. Be careful in choosing this clinic for treating your pain.

Dr. Richard M. ROSENTHAL's response
I was surprised and sorry to learn that this patient had a bad experience at our clinic. I have been performing spinal procedures for the past 20 years and teaching other physicians how to properly perform these types of procedures for the past 15 years. I truly care about my patients, and their comfort and well-being is of the utmost importance to me. I am sorry that this patient had a bad experience and would encourage them to return so that we can help to find a solution for their pain.

I have been Dr. Rosenthals patient for almost 4 years now. During this time I've also gotten to know his staff quite well. They have always treated me with respect, compassion and patience. During each appointment they spend as much time as needed to answer my questions and address any concerns I have. They take the time to explain the physiological cause of my pain and have taught me different ways to cope with its debilitating nature. I would recommend Dr. Rosenthal and his associates to anyone who is debilitated by pain and seeking a higher quality of life.

Horrible dr that said he couldn't see my grandma because we took too long filling out her paper work. even though she there on time. I took her, she could barely walk, and asked that they could please see her and he said no. WHAT KIND OF DOCTOR IS THAT. obviously one that doesn't really care about his patients.

It really saddens me to see such bad things written about this doctor. My experiences with Dr. Rosenthal have really given me my life back and I truly believe that the treatments I received saved me from a much more costly, and much more painful alternative of surgery. I have suffered with back pain for so many years and after the injections I received from Dr. Rosenthal I am FINALLY experiencing some relief. Dr. Rosenthal was very knowledgeable and his staff was very kind and understanding, even on my first visit when I probably wasn't very pleasant because I was in a lot of pain at that time. I was such an angry, unhappy person when I had pain. Now I feel like a dark cloud has been removed from my life. It is not just that my pain is gone, but my whole outlook on life is different. I can't say enough how grateful I am to Dr. Rosenthal and his staff. I would recommend him to anyone struggling with back pain.

We only saw him for five minutes before my wife had a radio frequency lesioning. Kept seeing different staff members who all guaranteed this procedure would help and no risk of making her pain worse. Procedure did make her pain worse-much worse and then was hard to talk to doctor and could only see staff mainly who did not believe us. Doctor seemed not to be too interested in talking to patients, seemed to leave most of that to his staff. Terrible experience. They did not disclose risks, only benefits.
