Dr Rouben fused my lumbar spine. I woke up with terrible pain down my right leg. A yr later his nurse practioner said something didn’t heal. During surgery #2 I got Mrsa from operating room. I told him something was wrong. He didn’t listen. Told me not to be dramatic. 24hrs after I get hm incision burst open and infection went every. 6 day hospital stay, a pic line and iv antibiotics for 9 months. 3rd surgery to remove metal because Mrsa stuck to it and #4 to repair the soft tissue. Run away from this Dr. I did my homework but the day I met this Dr changed my life in an awful way.

Dr. Rouben is an excellent surgeon. He was my 2nd surgeon and fortunately was able to correct damage by the first surgeobn. He explained everything thoroughly and told us what to expect. I’m so glad we found him. He has my complete trust.

He is the best and extremely busy, so I forgive the wait times. He has helped me recover from injuries sustained in a car accident in 2014. To date he has repaired my neck and will be repairing my back next week. He is forthcoming, patient, and takes all the time you need to make sure you understand what is going on. He is very blunt, and doesn't pull any punches. I really appreciate that in him. If you want the BEST, you see Dr. Rouben. If you want someone who ushers you in and out without answering all of your questions, you see someone else. I prefer quality or quantity!

Dr. Rouben has treated me for 16 yrs. At age 28 I fell and shattered a lumbar disc. Dr. Rouben fought workman's comp for me, performed a spinal fusion and I worked the last 16 years in restaurants and most recently the last 5 years in a warehouse! I don't trust anyone else with my spine!

As written in other ratings I too experienced the same long waiting periods, arroganance and lack of bedside manner, and discrepancies in note taking and medical records. The reason I continued was from all the reasearch I had done I thought he was the most skilled person to fix my problem so I was willing to put up with these things. I had first surgery and had immediate complications and my 4 small incisions were 2 six inch incisions. A year goes by with more pain than I had before I had my surgery. Nurse practitioner diagnosed a unsealed screw that needed to be replaced. I was willing to try again because I didn't want to live my life in pain management and that was what I was doing since 6 weeks after my first surgery. While having the 2nd surgery I contracted Mrsa in the operating room in my surgical site. It took them 10 days to diagnose. I became very sick and required a 3rd surgery. At this point no other dr would treat me. Not the end of story but end of space.

Although I waited for 90 minutes to see him, What I learned about my back problem made it worth the wait he took time to listen and really explained my options .

Bring a book your in for a LONG wait - usually several hours. They schedule lots of patients for the same time. I saw a nurse practioner who was very good there. However, I never saw the doc until the visit before surgery. He has NO bedside manner. He was late on date of surgery & I found out he had 5 other surgeries scheduled same day. However, he did a good job on the surgery. WARNING - at first I went there to see another doc, that had been my orthopedic doc, his name was on the door & everything. After several appts where I was seen by nurse practioner, I found out my old doc had his license suspended. NO ONE TOLD ME THAT. He fixed my neck; but failed to recognize a major shoulder dislocation. I had to have surgery for that elsewhere
