Dr. Gerstein was VERY insistent on giving me the HPV vaccine. I told her I was in a committed relationship, and did not feel the need to get an unnecessary vaccine. So, when I declined, she said I should get it because I'm not married! I was incredibly insulted. From now on, I will request to see Dr. Heise at the same practice. When I had a small emergency, she was very helpful.

I loved Dr. Gerstein's personality and bedside manner, but during my pelvic exam she failed to find a tangerine-sized cyst in my left ovary that--thankfully--went away a few months later. This wouldn't have been so bad, if hadn't she abruptly left the Center City practice a fwe weeks later WITHOUT telling me so that I was stuck with a different doctor and a condition that I knew nothing about. I'm sure office politics contributed to a great deal of these actions, but as the patient stuck without her familiar physician, let me tell you, that sucked and I'd never return to her care.

f you have the chance to go to her, you should. she is hands down the best doctor i have ever had. ever. she did a consult with me before doing anything else. she talked to me openly about the issues i faced in my particular situation. she did not judge. she was kind when i needed it. she answered some questions that were hard for me to ask and did not make me feel stupid or wrong for asking them. she was gentle when she did the pap smears. she called me personally with results. i really liked her, and was sad when she left the office in center city.

Does not keep accurate charts. I was charged $500 for a test that I specifically told her not to send out. I strongly recommend finding a different gynecologist.
