.I suffer from a rotator cuff condition on my left shoulder for which I had surgery 6 years ago but without any long term relief. The surgery was at Columbia U. Medical Center and since then I saw a couple of other orthopedics and had several rounds of physical therapy with intermittent and short-lived improvement. Then I went to Dr. Stefanides and he gave me a cortisone shot that really relieved my chronic pain for a good six months during which I gained a lot of upward and backward mobility on my shoulder. I had during the past two or three cortisone shots on my shoulder at other Dr. offices but never before I had such good results as the single time that Dr. Stefanides did it.
Since then I went back to him for my lower back and knee problems and he was always wonderfully accommodating of my anxieties explaining in a concise way my symptoms and guiding to me to exercises that have been improving my condition. In another occasion we sent him a photo of an x-ray of my son's wrist (after he fell from his bike) and he gave us a quick and accurate diagnosis over the phone rushing us to the Center for special (wrist) surgery in Manhattan
Dr Stefanides is excellent in multiple ways. Extremely competent is his specialty yet possessing a holistic knowledge of the whole field of orthopedics and also kind and caring.

I went to Dr. Stefanides for a third opinion. He was able to diagnose my problem when the other previous doctors I saw couldn't. Thanks Dr. S! You are the best.

great visit for my shoulder.... He did not recommend surgery. Just therapy and medicine... My shoulder feels great. The other doctors I saw recommended surgery.

I went to see Dr. Stefanidis when I sprained my lower back during crossfit. The pain was unbearable but Dr. Stefanidis saved me! He was great!! Communicative, friendly and I really felt comfortable with him. I recommend Dr. Stefanidis!!!
