I had back surgery back in 2014. I had three "spacers" put between some verterbrae, as well as two rods on either side of my spine...I was up walking the day after the surgery. I was only in the Hospital for 2 days. A physical therapist was ordered for home care for a couple of weeks. HE IS A DOCTOR THAT I RECOMMEND TO ANYONE WHO HAD THE SAME PROBLEMS I HAD...I am so glad that he did my surgery. He was recommended by the Ortho Dr. that I had gone to see...He is one of the BEST in his field...And his staff was FANTASTIC.... I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE WHO IS HAVING SPINAL PROBLEMS LIKE I HAD...

Dr. Sawin is a Top Notch and well-respected Neurosurgeon! He saved my life and was very attentive to me during and after surgery. He kept my family in the "know" of my condition and projected treatment. This helped make them feel calmer and not wondering what was going on. I truly recommend Dr. Sawin!

Office staff ran poorly. Dr. Sawin didn't seem to care after surgery.

Dr. Sawin is extraordinarily competent as a spinal surgeon having performed on me a very complex multi-level lumbar stabilization emergency surgery. He is extremely patient taking his time explaining the condition, surgical procedure, short and long term recovery benchmarks. He does not sugarcoat the details and gives the patient reasonable expectations for outcome. But beyond the technical ability, he is the most compassionate and sincere human being I have ever met in the medical profession. He gives you his full attention, answers all questions and has a genuine concern for you as a person, not just as a patient and revenue.

Dr Paul Sawin has performed 2 spinal operations on my back since 2013. He is the most considerate, concerned and knowledgeable physician I have encountered in my 78 years. When you are talking with him, you are the only one he has on his mind.He is not looking to run to his next patient and he makes you feel like he is genuinely concerned about your care. I would recommend Dr. Sawin to anyone who has an issue with the back and spine. It is difficult to see him quickly because he is extremely busy, but the wait is worth it if you want the very best in care. His PA and ARNP-C are highly qualified to handle his cases when Dr. Sawin is not available for personal visits.

I have been seeing Dr. sawin for over 10 yrs and have had 4 surgeries. I completely trust him to perform my surgeries and think he is the best in his communication skills with patients and families. That said, my only problem with him is that he has become sooo busy. You don't get to see him very often but the pa is very knowledgable and friendly. Even without the personal aspects that have been lost with his practice he is the only surgeon I would have perform my surgeries, he is worth waiting for. It's very hard but he is a fantastic Dr. I gues his patients just have to learn to share him with others . For those that are new to his care forgo the personal touch for an excellent surgeon. When you do see him he is very caring and takes his time with you answering any questions you may have. He just doesn't have time for routine visits, deal with it, if you want the best if not great he will have more time for the rest of us.

The staff are unbelieveably rude and never get back to you. Throughout my six week experience with 2 spinal fusions and 3 laminectomies by Dr. Sawin, I saw him a total of 10 minutes. Then things got bad and I tried to see him, I could only see his Nurse Practitioner, who couldn't help me. The nurses at Orlando Neuroscience Center were mostly good in the 5 days I was hospitalized, but three were horrendous. I was in so much pain and no one did anything about it. Six months later, the disc above my fusions were stenosed and herniated and I had surgery in Saratoga Springs, NY near our summer home. The surgeon had to completely re-do my two fusions and add another. The whole experience was 100% better than with Dr. Sawin. I saw my surgeon every single day in the hospital for 10-15 minutes. He spent over and hour with my husband and me, discussing the pros and cons of the surgery. I would never go to Dr. Sawin again in my life.

From the get go when I called to make an appt the woman who books your appointment was rude and not helpful each of the 3 times I spoke with her. When you are living 24/7 severe pain you would hope Sawin wld hire someone with some compassion and a sense of caring for his pts.. Pls at least pretend you care. Sawin was a gem himself. I am married to a surgeon and so I always give benefits of the doubt to drs. because I understand the stress of their job. He was, however, arrogant, somewhat condescending, and completely unhelpful. Unlike the neurosurgeon I just saw yesterday he didnot even view the mri's with my husband and I. He looked at them prior to coming into the room, god forbid we ask any questions regarding them, and asked me only ONE QUESTION regarding the pain I have been living for months now and then stated what he that it was, which has proven to be incorrect. He then stood up shook our hands and the lady at the desk proceeded to take our money.
