Dr. Sawin has performed 2 surgeries on me. I had one of first artificial disc surgeries on my L5 and he also had to do surgery on my neck. I now face another disc replacement in my neck. Were it any other doctor all these surgeries would have had me very nervous! I had the good grace to have been referred to Dr. Sawin and I found from my first appointment a very kind, compassionate, patient, incredibly dedicated and knowledgeable doctor. Dr. Sawin has always given me as long as I need to talk. He is in fact, one of my blessings! He has a very busy office but everyone there has always been quite kind and always returned calls. Nancy is his right hand woman and she has done amazing things for me. She is always on top of the situation - though she has an incredible amount of cases to be on top of. I am so grateful to Dr. Sawin and Nancy. I can't imagine the shape I'd be in, if I was even walking without him. I've recommended him to many others. God Bless Dr. Sawin always!

This doctor has a very mixed reputation, and well deserved. I had spinal fusion and like others on here am in terrible pain. It has been almost a year since the surgery and he has never seen me only his rude medical assistant. Do not go to the practice, there are others better trained who know how to communicate and might actually care about the outcome and the patient. This doctor and staff do not. So sorry I chose him.

Came highly recommended, warned that he may be hade to communicate with. Found that NOT to be the case. Took as much time as needed to completly explain all facets of disk fusion. Surgery complete and previous symptoms are gone. DR and staff were curteous and helpful.

Unfortunately, I was not helped by my spinal fusion. I was told I would be good to go in about 4 months but am in worse pain than ever. I have lost my job as a result. The answers I get now are, "well, there were no guarantees". I would have second guessed the surgery if only I had known. My advice is to try all other alternatives, and get many other opinions. Nobody told me 20% of the surgeries fail.

I had a spinal fusion from Dr. Sawin & was very happy with his skill, knowledge, time he spent with me and understanding of my case. He will continue to be the only nuerosurgeon I recommend for spinal surgeries in Orlando.

Awesome doctor that did an amazing job on my surgery, and spent extra time realigning my tattoo that had to be cut through in order to preform the surgery. i couldn't have asked for a better doctor. I highly recommend this doctor. Also, while in the hospital, my mother developed a crush on him.

Dr. Sawin in an outstanding nuerosurgeon. He is kind, compassionate and immensely skilled. Also, his office staff was amazing to work with - especially Nancy, who is his Assistant. When I saw Dr. Sawin, I was almost near paralysis yet the Chiropractors advised me to do spinal decompression - BEWARE! They are only taking your hard earned money. If you have decompressed discs that are sitting on your spinal column, do NOT fall into that trap - you will need surgery and you need to have a highly skilled nuerosurgeon perform this delicate surgery. Two folks from my church were also operated on by Dr. Sawin and they had nothing but good things to say. I feel that Dr. Sawin literally saved my life and I will never be able to thank him enough. Dr. Sawin's office has to deal with emergencies all the time so please be patient. For all the naysayers on the Doc's staff - perhaps if you treated them well, they may treat you well - I never had a problem.

Dr. Sawin literally saved my life! I have had five intensive spinal surgeries by him. My cage implant from C3-4 thru C4-5 ate away C2,C5,C6. I was 1.5" shorter, could not swallow, cld not feel my arms. He fixed it w/11.5hr surgery. I am 50yrs old. He has fused w/cables,plates & custommade cadaver bone IN the OR to fit my neck! He has recently fused 4 levels of my thoracic spine that collapsed. I am in SUPERB shape. He took HOURS with me before & after surgery. He took HOURS before surgery with my family on a SEPARATE visit to alleviate their fears & questions! WHAT DR DOES THAT??!! His secretary/rt hand man, Nancy, is wonderful, kind & efficient! Staff was great. Billing smooth! Dr. Sawin is a talented, gifted surgeon. I was in tremendous pain w/numbness! I am healed & doing WONDERFULLY! You cannot go wrong putting yr spine in his hands! He is a gifted, kind, patience, talented, knowledgeable surgical genius!

Dr. Sawin is the best neurosurgeon in Orlando and probably one of the best in the country. He did surgeries on both me and a family member and we are very impressed with his skill, knowledge and care. Our only complaint is that his office staff can definitely be hard to deal with and they do not return calls at times. It is very hard to get an appointment which can take months because of the fact that he is so in demand. After another Orlando neurosurgeon totally botching my spine surgery, I would rather wait for an appointment than end up with a **** for a surgeon. Dr. Sawin is amazing and is well respected in his field by other medical professionals. I highly recommend him!
