There is a reason that he has a sign on the wall stating that a chaperone will be provided if you want one. This guy is just plain bad news. Although he has not received any public disciplinary actions by the Board of Medical Licensure and Discipline, his name is well known to the board because of the number of complaints.

As a physician myself, I was dumbstruck by the lack of compassion this man evinced. I wanted to say , "Do you recall when you lost your passion for this work?", but that would have used more time to speak than I was allowed. This misanthrope does not deserve the privilege of practicing medicine.

Dr. Guarino was sent to me while I was in the hospital with a new diagnosis of cancer. I couldn't put my finger on it but I really didn't care for him. At an appointment after this I waited over 1-1/2 hours for him to come in. When I told him that my time was valuable he became very irate. I never went back!

I recently had the misfortune of meeting Dr. Gaurino. I quickly came to the conclusion that I did not like him (I have the feeling that it was mutual) and moved on to another oncologist with another group. Dr. Guarino did not like to take the time to explain things that I did not understand. As long as I nodded and agreed without question, everything was fine. When I started asking questions he appeared to become irate. I would not recommend him.

The unfortunate truth of this website (and all rating websites) is that many of the people who take the time to leave feedback about a doctor on the internet are the disgruntled ones. Those, like me, who were thrilled with the doctor just move on with life. With that in mind, I treated with Dr. Guarino for stage 3 lymphoma in 2007 and have been cancer free for nearly 4 years. I have scar tissue from my tumor as well, but Dr. G has not treated the scar tissue as "cancer", so I'm not sure why he would have done that with anyone else. I was hospitalized for a week at the beginning of my treatment and heard from others at the hospital that Dr. G is consistently the last doctor to leave each day because he is so devoted to helping patients. I found this to be true. Dr. G was careful and thorough with my treatment, explained my options to me, responded to all my calls, and has been nothing short of wonderful. He is a FANTASTIC doctor! He saved my life.

This guy was rude and ignorant when speaking to several members of our family. He would cut you off mid sentence to get his word in. We quickly found someone that was considerate and had a very successful outcome and a much better experience.

I hope the fact that nobody has made a comment since 2006 means he's no longer practicing medicine!! This jerk was treating my mother for cancer when it was only scar tissue. Stay away from the whole group.

Not a very nice or symptahetic person for someone who is a cancer doctor.
