This specialist physician ( urologist ) reminds me of physicians from the 1950’s: dedicated, caring, knowledgeable, approachable, and sharp. Her approach to her specialty is to listen to her patient, to ask questions, to provide clear answers to her patients’s questions.

What one sees is what one gets. There is no artifice to her demeanor, no “show horse” approach, no seeing the patient as an illness but rather as a person. She exudes a confidence in her abilities but without the haughtiness of some specialists.

What I like about her is her genuine warmth and humor that puts me at ease by asking me about my problem, wanting to know how I feel, and by allowing me to confide in her.

Don't expect any follow up phone calls, personal attention, or much concern. Does not return phone calls. Very difficult to get messages to. Seems to always be out of town or too busy. Not recommended.

Two years ago I had an 8mm kidney stone--complete left side blockage and a smaller one on the right. Dr Boyd has got me back to full function, pain free and the only ongoing treatment is to drink too much water or lemon aid daily (80 oz seems like too much until you get used to it. She is the most patient, caring, attentive and knowledgeable Dr. I have had. I generally distrust Doctors to the extent that they will take out things unnecessarily--tonsils, appendix, one mole per visit, etc., you know this. Still, at age 66, she ranks in the top two. The staff is excellent, the PA is good--not as knowledgeable naturally, but helpful. The billing can be confusing and confused between upstaires and down, but everyone works to help at every instance of need.

I have been seeing Dr. Boyd for roughly 5yrs. In the beginning everything was great. Then when I made appointments thinking they were with her turned out to only be with the PA. I understand that I do not always need to be seen by her personally but after a major surgery I would hope to see her. After 5-6 major surgeries she still isn't sure whats wrong with me. What drew the line with me & her was that she was trying to pawn me off to another doctor in NC. I wasn't ok with that since she is my doctor and she knows my conditions. Evidently now she dos not know what else to do. I trusted in her! I'm not even sure how I feel. I feel let down that she is trying to send me to another Urologist and that she is just throwing in the towel instead of finding other alternatives. I mean in Savannah she is known to be the top IC specialist. I guess I see things different and hope for her to find a miracle or at least give it her best. Nobody knows what living with Chronic Pain feels like unless your in it. Just don't pretend to care when honestly you don't and are trying to send YOUR patient to another state. I became your patient for a reason. Because you were suppose to be the best with my condition.

Dr. Boyd was usually on time for my visits, and she followed up with tests in a reasonable amount of time. She was a bit short with me when I'd ask her questions though, both on the initial exam and later when explaining the results of tests. Her initial examination was not very thorough, and that was later verified by another urologist who essentially said she was uninformed on my condition. However, she did come up with some novel ideas for treatment, one of which appears to have lead indirectly to a resolution of my problem. Since her initial diagnosis turned out to be incorrect, perhaps she made a lucky call. One person on her staff was impatient when I asked her to explain the results of a test, but all the others were good, and everyone can have a bad day now and then.

Fantastic doctor. She has a very calm and caring bedside manner. Listens aptly to her patients, and is very reassuring to be around. She has done a couple of my lithotripsies, and I have never been made to feel uncared for with her.
