20 weeks into my pregnancy, saw the doctor only twice. The wait times were high both the times and the doctor hardly spent time. I'm often referred to the nurse practitioner when I go in for the appointment. At-least the nurse practitioners who saw me were caring enough.

Dr Carmen is an excellent Dr , but her staff Specially Gihaida is horrible , she is very rude to the patients, I had to schecdule an appt for IUD insertsion n then reschedule it for some personal emergency had to leave her voice message, never called back 1 day, 2 day, 3 days have passed , finally called the office i talked to the other staff memeber she said she also did'nt never when she will return the call, finally after a day or so this Giahada calls back n denies that she ever received voice messages n was very rude, finally was able to make an appointment.

I had a miscarriage a couple of months ago (it was devastating! especially since this was my second miscarriage and made me realize that it wasn't just luck, that maybe it was me). Anyway, I was referred to Dr. Carmen Woods office by the ER for my follow-up. Went to the appointment, and was told the doctor was busy...if I would be willing to see the nurse practitioner. I said ok, that was fine. The NP was pretty nice, very understanding, and asked me if I would like to do a blood panel to see why I might be miscarrying. My husband and I decided it might be a good idea and agreed to do the blood test. Came back for the blood test (before going to work), had to wait an additional half hour from my given appointment time because the person who takes the blood had not come in to work yet (Needless to say, I was late to work). Ok, whatever, life happens..move on, right?! Did not receive a follow up call about my results, so I called them. The staff told me that the doctor would like to have me take a 2nd blood test because my HCG levels were not zero. Really?! I LOST THE BABY, I'M NOT PREGNANT--is this really necessary?! According to the doctor, the staff told me, yes it was. Ok, fine..let's schedule another blood test. I went, this time only a 20 minute delay from the given appointment time (luckily, I took a half day from work this time--I had learned my lesson). A week later, I received a voicemail from Victoria at Dr. Woods office - my HCG levels were normal and there was no further follow up required. Well, duh, I could have told you that. But wait, what about my miscarriage blood panel results? I called them back, and was told I would need to make an appointment to discuss the results with the doctor. Made ANOTHER appointment, showed up (took the day off work, since that was the only availability the doctor had)---only to be told that the doctor had an emergency and was unable to make it to the appointment. Would I want to reschedule? WTF?!!! REALLY?! This was the 3rd month since my miscarriage. I had seen a NP, took 2 blood tests, paid for ALL of these services, spoken to several of her staff, and have yet to see this Dr. Carmen Woods. I WAS DONE!
In all fairness, the doctor could have been busy and had an emergency. But as a patient, who was already in a devastating situation, I felt horrible at the way I was treated by Dr. Woods and some of her staff. There was a lack of empathy and understanding, poor punctuality, lack of communication, professionalism, and flexibility with appointments. Maybe some of you might have a different experience than me, but if you encounter any of the issues I did, please please do not wait 3 months like me to finally put an end to it!

I have been seeing Dr. Carmen for about 15 years. I am newly pregnant, and she as well as her staff have been great. I thought about changing doctors due to my home location change, but I have had such a trusting experience there, I'm willing to drive. I have had to wait a few times. The trick is getting appointments in off hours (not lunch or after work). I highly recommend her.

Over the summer I had a miscarriage and Dr Woods kept me waiting for her for 4 hours. At the follow up appointment she rudely told me that she didnt like my boyfriend asking her questions. Now I am pregnant again and was told that she will not see me because of my insurance. I know that this is not true because she has seen me before with this insurance. It was so unprofessional of her to abandon her patient because of her personal feelings. I urge anyone to consider a different doctor.

I live in CA, but wanted to have my baby delivered in Ill so I could be near family. I researched multiple doctors online and chose Dr. Carmen as she met all of my criteria, plus some. I knew I made the right choice by the tone/follow-up of her office mgr. Her staff was the most courteous, professional, helpful, warm and friendly team I've encoutered in a doctors office and my experience in the waiting area was very pleasant. I was immediately impressed with Dr. Carmen's warmth, sincerity, knowledge and personable way of being. All of my appts, pre and post delivery were more than pleasant - and my bikini line c-section cut is nearly invisible after 7 weeks! The nurses/staffers also raved about her. It's no wonder that 99% of the women I've met at BRU, Target, etc. along the North Shore area of Chicago also had their children delivered by Dr. Carmen - moms talk! She is progressive, has the latest technology in her office and I loved my experience with her! You will too!

I am halfway through a pregnancy with the Woods team as my doctors. Dr. Woods is very friendly and knowledgable. Only had a long wait once so far and that wasn't even that bad. If you're seeing the PA, you're in and out very quickly. The office is nice and staff are great.
