When the hospital system (this doctor is in) did not report to him that I had suffered severe consequences from a medical accident and that they had detected a life-threatening congenital disease, he blamed me for not disclosing to the hospital that he was my primary care doctor. There is no way they did NOT know since I only have one medical record number, and my wrist band clearly showed his name (and, in fact, I had indicated he was my PCP each of the ten or more times I had my history taken in the hospital - although, of course, there were periods when I was unconscious so I may have missed a time or two). He later suggested I receive my care elsewhere when I got a second opinion about a cardiac issue. He said that if I didn't trust him to provide all my care that I should leave his practice. It may be due to cultural misunderstandings, but I felt disrespected on gender-related issues more than once.
