I have had 5 or 6 sessions with doctor Foye over the years. At 70 years old, I have many doctors, from primary, cardiology, dermatology, veins, urology, and more. I have to say doctor Foye is without a doubt is among the best medically, and doctor patient relationship. I am very lucky to have found him , he is very special.

Excellent knowledge and care and he used it to properly diagnose my case which has similar symptoms of Coccyx issue, directed me to the real issue that I had with a misdiagnosed rare neuro disease, and helped me getting the contact information for the Tarlov cyst Centre. Dr. Foye is one of few Doctors around our time who prioritize their patience needs over anything else, you can see his excellent influence on his great staff attentiveness.

My experience with Dr. Foye and his staff has been exceptional from the first phone contact all the way through the procedure I had at The Tailbone Pain Center in the Dept. of Physical Medicine at Rutger’s New Jersey Medical School.

From January through October 2023 I suffered with coccyx pain. I underwent numerous imaging studies and interventions with physiatrists and pain management doctors at the best facilities in Los Angeles. No one had experience with a technique for imaging the coccyx while seated, which Dr. Foye emphasizes is essential to determining the cause of tailbone pain, and therefore, how to treat it. Despite my best efforts over nearly a year, I could not get proper diagnosis or treatment. I spent eight months chasing down this problem with nothing working. My frustration ended when I found Dr. Foye.

His office set up a video telehealth appointment within a week of my first call. During the video appt. it became clear to me that I’d found the right doctor for this problem. Dr. Foye is caring, personable and compassionate, with a depth of expertise and experience treating conditions of the coccyx that I simply was unable to find anywhere else. He requested all my MRIs and X-rays. On a follow-up video call one week later, he was able to identify and clearly show me that I had a bone spur on the tip of my coccyx, something no other radiologist or physician had been able to see.

My husband and I flew to New Jersey and I had a nerve block which resulted in 100% relief and resolution of my pain over the ensuing month. Dr. Foye’s finesse in performing the procedure, coupled with his clear and constant explanation throughout the 15-minutes it took made the experience easy, stress-free and almost entirely painless. He made me feel at ease and comfortable with his friendly, professional manner and excellent communication.

I feel incredibly fortunate to have found Dr. Foye and to have been able to see him at Rutger’s Medical School. It is a significant relief in my life not to have to deal with this pain anymore. Thank you, Dr. Foye! My husband and I are very, very grateful to you!

Dr. Foye was the first doctor who understood my coccyx pain and took each and every step he could to not only help me understand it, but to successfully treat it. His guidance and treatment changed my life. I have a dislocated/unstable coccyx, and yearly injections are a godsend. He is thorough, patient, receptive, and generous with his time and expertise. I genuinely wish all my doctors and specialists were of Dr. Foye's caliber. One of two of the most exceptional doctors I have ever been treated by in my 53 years.

I had a great experience with Dr. Foye and his staff. They were very friendly and helpful. The x-ray techs were ready for me when I arrived ( I flew in from Florida) and there was no waiting involved. Dr. Foye is very knowledgeable and approachable with a fantastic personality. He listened and completely understood what I was telling me (which hasn't been the case with any other doctors I have consulted about my tailbone pain in the last three years!). He took his time and explained everything, including the three different issues I have, and then proceeded to suggest treatment. I opted for the injections and he was able to administer them the same day. It's only been 6 days and I'm already feeling better. I would definitely recommend Dr. Foye to everyone!

I went to several doctors, over a 2 year period, without a definitive diagnosis until I found Dr Foye in 2014. His x-ray method immediately identified a coccyx issue (dislocation of the tailbone) and he started treatment that day. We have spend the past 8 years treating the problem with numerous methods and pain relief has been achieved for various periods from 1 year to almost 3 years. He is the most caring doctor I have ever met and truely concerned about his patients wellbeing. His book describes the coccyx issues and treatments and is a recommended reading.

I flew my 17 year old daughter almost 700 miles, from SC to NJ, to seek treatment from Dr. Patrick Foye. She had already seen about 8 different physicians locally, 4 different chiropractors, physical therapists, massage therapists, even an acupuncturist and no one could help with or even diagnose the source of her intense pain. Dr. Foye was the first and only physician that spent a lot of time listening to her and truly understood how debilitating her pain was. He answered both of our questions and never made us feel rushed or unimportant like so many other physicians have. The special X-ray technique and detailed MRI instructions were truly amazing. The difference in the quality of images produced was unreal and was crucial in diagnosing the actual problem. Dr. Foye saw a clear explanation for her pain on MRI images that a local radiologist and her regular physician missed. After years of being told she just had to learn to live with the pain, she had begun to feel that life wasn’t worth living. Dr. Foye has changed our lives and given us hope that one day soon she will be in less pain. He is a phenomenal physician with vast knowledge about coccyx pain and a compassionate, patient demeanor that inspires confidence in his very detailed treatment plan. I have read his book twice and often look at his website for advice and encouragement. He also makes himself readily available to his patients via email and telehealth visits. I would recommend anyone with coccyx pain to see him. Thank you Dr. Foye for giving us answers and hope for a better future!

coccyx and I could not sit without pain because my tailbone was not curling under me when I sit. He is very patient and takes his time, showing you the x-rays and explaining what the problem is. After 7 years of dealing with the pain, I decided to have a nerve ablation. It was very successful and I can sit now for hours at a time without pain for the first time in 7 years! God Bless Dr. Foye. I have my life back!

I have been dealing with coccyx pain for over 10 years. Before then I was a well put together, fashionable, women who regularly exercised, was in great shape, always had my make-up, hair and nails done. Coccyx pain has made me a shell of that women. Just taking a shower and throwing on jeans and sneakers is painful and takes Herculean effort.

I have had 3 different back surgeries (including a coccygectomy), tried alternative treatments, spent more than tens of thousands on health care as well as supplements, special chairs, mattresses and pillows. I’ve had multiple rounds of the same x-rays and imaging. I’ve had many kinds of steroid injections as well as prolotherapy and PRP. Repositioning myself to sit, stand or lay down without aggravating my coccyx has resulted in arthritis like pain in other joints. I had given up hope of ever having any quality of life.

Earlier this month, so tired of the stigma of taking opioids, the humiliation of random urine tests, and having pharmacists actually refuse to fill my pain prescription, I had to believe someone out there could help me. My youngest daughter is getting married this summer and attending the whole event would be a dream for me.
Through internet searches, I had seen Dr. Patrick Foye and his book Tailbone Pain Relief Now but to be perfectly honest I did not view him as a serious doctor, just one more guy selling a “cure” book. I’m sure I bypassed him many times during my 10 years of pain, which I greatly regret. This time, I bought the kindle version on Amazon for .99¢. He is the real deal. He is the Director, Coccyx Pain Center (Tailbone Pain Center), Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, Newark, NJ
After reading it, I realized he actually understood how much coccyx pain can impact your quality of life. I had to see him. I live in WV and he is in NJ, but I hoped the trip would be worth it.
Once I faxed the application to his office, Grace from his office staff called me to make an appointment for Feb. 17th. From reading the book, to collecting the necessary documentation and faxing it in. It took me less than a month to get in to see him. Grace was wonderful. She helped me bump the appointment up to the 17th when a prior appointment date wouldn’t work out. She contacted my insurance, which is out of network, and described what would be covered and how out-of-network items could be more affordable. She was very patient with me when I had to call back several times with the same question.

My husband and I traveled in the night before my appointment. It was a 1:00pm appointment and the office makes it very clear you will be there at least four hours. When I checked in Dr. Foye was in the staff area and poked his head out to say Hi. I was sent to x-ray and after a short wait, I had the x-rays he describes in his book. Once back in his office, Vidur, a member of his staff walked me to an exam room. This time, I passed Dr. Foye as he was going through the image CDs I had brought from home. Vidur, carefully took my history and read his summarized notes back to me, in case I had something I wanted to add or clarify. I watched a video on coccyx pain while Vidur went to go over my history with Dr. Foye.

When they returned Dr. Foye explained that although I was told that I had a total coccygectomy and that the surgical notes said that I had a complete coccygectomy, a coccyx bone was left, unattached, inside of me. He believes this to be the cause of my pain. He showed me one of the x-rays he took circling what should be the “end” of my removed coccyx, the bone left inside much lower down, and calcifications that are starting to form a bridge where the tailbone was removed. He also showed me my x-ray taken one month after my complete coccygectomy done by the surgeon who performed my coccygectomy and the loose bone is visible in that x-ray! I kept going to that surgeon and sayings I was in pain. I was told to give it more time for the nerves to heal. I was told sometimes the pain just doesn’t improve. I was told to try other pain relief methods like a spinal cord stimulator. I was never told a bone was left inside me!

After Dr. Foye’s explanation, he examined me, testing the strength in my legs and feeling for painful areas around my pelvis and tailbone areas. We discussed my options and decided to try a series of shots to see if they control the pain. If that doesn’t work, I may need revision surgery to remove that loose bone.

I had the injections and was finished around 5:30 PM. The day was coordinated well and I accomplished a lot in one afternoon.

It has been 3 days since the shots and I am sore from the car ride and injections, which is to be expected. It will take a month before I know how much my pain may improve from the shots, if at all. Hopefully, the pain will improve so I can wean down or off my pain medicines. At least now, I have a diagnosis and hope that the options now open to me will improve my quality of life.
