Over the last 20 plus years, I've found Dr. Blount to be knowledgeable and attentive to my personal needs. I highly recommend him.

Part of the concept of Family Practice is that you don't need a whole bunch of different doctors to treat the different members of your family. Dr. Blount takes it to the extreme though and almost refuses to send you to a specialist. He's not the best at removing an ingrown toenail or dealing with a kidney stone or setting a uniquely broken finger - sometimes you just need a specialist and he won't volunteer one. He's also way too caught up in his numbers "45% of people with that blood sugar will be diabetic by the time they are 60". I don't care about that - figure out why my blood sugar is high and help me to avoid becoming part of the 45%; and just telling me to eat less pasta isn't the answer.

I was referred to Dr. Blount by a co worker. Nice office with plenty of sports jerseys on the wall. Dr. Blount was very impersonal, rushed, and doesn't listen. I tried to contact him with questions after my appointment and he returned my phone call,.... and told me I WAS OCCUPYING HIS PHONE LINES AND NOT TO CALL AS THERE ARE OTHER PATIENTS THAT HE NEEDS TO ATTEND TO! Needless to say that he doesn't care about his patients and only cares about the money. DO NOT RECOMMEND

I highly recommend Dr. Blount. He has been my primary physician for 5+ years. He provides excellent medical care. He knows me, not just as his next appointment, but as an individual and his personal patient. His use of electronic health records has been a great resource for my health care, as with each appointment he is able to immediately pull up info on previous visits, concerns and treatments that may have relevance or impact to my current health issue. He and his nursing staff are always professional and friendly, and make me feel comfortable and confident in health care decisions and treatments. He always looks at my health from a comprehensive approach of how different issues/conditions might be related or interacting. He also makes recommendations on non-medical approaches to health and wellness.

Too rushed, last time I was in, no one even took my blood pressure - even though I am on blood pressure meds prescribed by this doctor. Medical issues are too important to be rushed. Cannot recommend.

When my problem was not what he first thought it was he made no effort to actually find out what the problem was. I found another doctor who actually took them time to figure out what the (real and fixable) problem was. Would never go back or refer him.

Dr. Blount has been extremely helpful in treating my whole family. He listens to my concerns and works diligently to find the right treatment for me personally. He is the best family doctor I have had in the last 20 years.

Dr. Blount is always rushed, never starts appts on time. He doesn't fully listen to all your symptoms. He has forgotten things I mentioned in the past, does he not review a patient's chart before stepping into the room? I complained of chronic fatigue and high blood pressure, I suggested it might be sleep apnea and he ordered a sleep study. When the results showed no concrete evidence his diagnosis was that I had narcolepsy. He was very quick to put me on medication to see if it helped me. Of course the medication did not really help and I still have no explanation for my symptoms. He will just prescribe something and send you on your way.

I HAVE ALWAYS FOUND DR. BLOUNT TO BE EXTREMELY FOCUSED, KNOWLEDGEABLE AND TIMELY. HE USES THE BEST AND MOST UP TO DATE TECHNOLOGY, AND ANSWERS ALL QUESTIONS IN A FOCUSED AND DIRECT MANNER. I HAVE BEEN A PATIENT FOR THE LAST 5 YEARS AND AM VERY PLEASED WITH DIRECTNESS AND CANDOR IN WHICH I AM TREATED. HE IS ONE OF THE BEST MD'S THAT I HAVE USED IN THE PAST 20 YEARS.

Intelligent and knowledgeable but always in a hurry. Never spends too much time with the patients. Trying to see as many patients as possible to make more money. Sometimes writes the wrong prescriptions since he is in sucn a hurry. I want a Doctor who will spend time with me and go over my health and not be in a rush. Are there any out there?
