My first few years with Dr. Jessen was comfortable. But when it hired office manager, Carlin, everything went down hill. If we had a complaint Carlin would intervene and trash it. If we tried to speak to the doctor, she would keep him busy with interruptions so we could not speak to him. Carlin doesn't like people, PERIOD. She doesn't like low income patients. She doesn't like making appointments for people who have dental insurance. She doesn't like being nice to anyone in the office. She tells you that she won't make an appointment if you return within a week to two week. She tells you that you cannot make an appointment if you are retired and don't have a job, even if you have cash in front of her. She hangs up on people on the phone (with me 3 times) and says "the phone slipped" - 3 TIMES with the same excuse is far TOO much. She doesn't answer her office phone even while I am standing in front of her, or even if I am asking her to answer her phone before serving me. She says she knows who is calling and doesn't want to talk to them. She was rude to me several times on the phone and in-person in the office. I canceled my appointment while I was in her office twice. The doctor's assistant spoke to her but nothing changed. Dr. Jessen never heard about her behavior because Carlin and the doctor's assistant are buddies who go to lunch often. My entire family went there then something was amiss with Carlin as our ENTIRE family complained "about the office manager, Carlin" so we decided to find another dentist. I cannot recommend this dentist whether it's his office manager or the doctor himself, it shows how not careful the doctor hires a wrong person, keeps them for long periods, and that person has been there for a few years and was rude over a 4 year period with me, and my family, or until we could not stand it any longer, and found another dentist. Me and my family are happy with another family dentist. I have had my teeth drilled, have silver caps, and I have had a long time relationship with Dr. Jessen. His other office manager (long time ago) was a very nice gal - BUT NOT CARLIN. She is totally bad-news. Dr. Jessen NEEDS a new office manager. IF he replaced Carlin, I would trust him to another appointment. Dr. Jessen was a very educated dentist who rally wanted his work to be the best - but that work MUST extend to the entire office staff or I will NOT give my time to him.

Great dentist - he even develops dental tools for a company in his spare time so he is thoroughly engaged in his job. It is not a modern office, but that doesn't bother me since I would rather have good dental work than an MP3 player spa like experience. One note, his hygeinests are very different one is very talkative and the other very quiet. Both are great, but depending on your preference this can have an impact on your visit. Feel free to request whichever works best for you the receptionist actually understands that request and honors it.

Dr. Jessen is one a fine dentist and an excellent human being. I have been going to him for many years. His staff is also warm and personable. Very down to earth people.

Dr. Jessen is the best! He does the highest quality work, with a thoroughness and carefulness to all detail that I had not found in a dentist before. And I have been to lots of them over the years! My partner went to him and was thrilled also, having him do a lot of esthetic work that looked fantastic! I went to him for a lot of work on very old fillings and problems and he did everything so well and at a reasonable cost. He cares about the patient and their health and about doing a really outstanding job. He has those rare old fashioned values of doing great quality work at a reasonable price with the ability to really make sure that the needs and concerns of the patient are met. He also is someone who will try to save your teeth and not just do a complete overhaul like some dentists want to do. Also the office staff is the best, always upbeat and helpful, just a joy to work with. If any place can make it fun to go to the dentist this is the place.

This man is a wonderful dentist. My whole family and some of their friends go to him. His staff is great as well. He takes care to fix teeth right and is a very skilled and talented man. I will be back!

Personally skilled and surrounds himself with a competent staff. A small office with good people. They seem to care more about your health than your money.
