Awful, ignored previous medical files I had sent over, said there was so much it would take to long to read. Changed my prescription without consultation and only ordered one vile when I need eight. Could have resulted in death! Never said sorry. Decided to reduce meds stating it was new guidelines which was a lie and proved it when I asked him to show me the guidelines, he couldn't. Asked me when my last physical was, it was given by him three month earlier he had no idea, horrible MD, hideous human.

Dr. Castillo has been my primary care physician for over two years and I have never found a more patient and understanding doctor. I'm not sure why another reviewer said that he was sexist - I have never experienced anything along those lines. Furthrmore, I have always chosen female doctors in the past because I thought I felt more comfortable. After a terrible experience with a female doctor at Facey I switched to Dr. Castillo and am so glad that I did. He has excellent bedside manner and makes me feel at ease and addresses my concerns with compassion. He doesn't prescribe unnecessary medications as many of my past doctors have. I am glad to have found Dr. Castillo.

This doctor is extremely sexist against women. When he could not figure out what was causing my symptoms, he asked if a new woman had started working in my office, because "we you all get together your hormones do crazy things." He then went into a story about how frat guys know what week to stay away from the sorority houses because all the ladies had synced up. Basically, he's told me it's "Lady Problems" making me feel sick, and he left it at that. If he really thought it was hormones, refer me to a specialist. I've never been treated in such a dismissive manner before, and will not trust him with my health and well being.

Office elephone system is a mess. There have been unbelievable waits to get a hold of anyone and the mailbox system is all but useless. Does not have some of the modern and inexpensive lab test equipment you'll find in most medical offices in this area and depends on outside lab services. Getting critical, routine lab test results has taken as much as four weeks and usually two to three. To get those results it has taken numerous phone calls and personal visits. When I tried to get the doctors attention for only a brief moment to let him know of this unacceptable delay he rudely and totally ignored me. I get the impression that this doctor, for whatever reason, is extremely unhappy working in this office and that he would rather work somewhere else. That appears to have been a correct observation because he is no longer at the La Vida location in Culver City.

Dr. Castillo is great but his office is a mess. Long wait times on the phone and in person (even when you have an early morning appointment!). It makes trying to get medical care a nightmare, even if your problem is very simple.
