Dr. Jean Smith was excellent with my back pain and migraine. She treated me with lidocane which helped the muscles relax due to not feeling the pain I was in. She is excellent it injections and was professional and considerate. Very caring when I had a broken finger. Did a good job. I would use this doctor again.

After having a severe migraine for several days, I saw Dr Smith. She recommended several shots of cortisone in my head. I was skeptical, especially after she said its a method she uses but not many other doctors do. After she gave me the very painful shots in my head, I found that the headache didn't go away at all... To shorten the story, I ended up passing out and was brought to the emergency room by rescue that evening. Another situation I had with Dr Dmith, which bothers me a lot more, happened when I went for my annual appointment last year. Apparently she was unable to drop her dogs off at doggie day care, so she brought both of then to work with her. She then proceeded to let both dogs wander around her office, in and out of patients' rooms. Even though she asked me if it was okay (which I said yes because I love dogs), I still feel this was extremely unprofessional and unsanitary for a medical establishment. Needless to say, I will be finding a new primary doctor soon.

Awful doctor. Please stay away. She wrongly advised me on how to wean off my anti depressants. The medicine SHE put me on. She told me to open the capsule and "dump out the tiny balls". From improperly weaning, I was suicidal. Her staff are also completely incompetent. Despite me telling them otherwise (numerous times on various occasions) they were still insistent that I moved to Florida at one point. I have never lived in Florida. Don't waste your time with this practice.

She is the worst doctor I've ever had. She doesn't understand her work, because she contradicts all her answers to your questions. Also, I've seen her making fun of her clients to her secretaries. Her secretaries by the way, are total ****es. They like to yell at patients on the phone if the patient asks to speak to the doctor due to the secretary contradicting the doctors words and making no sense at all. After all, they're just secretaries, they don't understand the test results you want answers from. I highly suggest staying away from this place.

I preface this by saying that my one and only appt. with Dr. Smith was in 2001. But it was rather memorable! She belittled me because of my weight. She suggested I should be more like her (fit), and when I said I sometimes skip breakfast, she said "thin people don't skip breakfast, fat people skip breakfast." She suggested my bronchitus was due to my weight. She never actually gave me any suggestions for managing my weight, aside from suggesting I try Weight Watchers. She gave me a lab sheet for bloodwork and said "I won't be surprised to find high cholesterol or even hypoglycemia." I never went back there, but guess what? The bloodwork showed normal cholesterol and blood sugar. All I got from Dr. Smith was a healthy kick to my self-esteem. My next doc managed to discuss my weight with me in a productive way. Maybe she could teach Jean Smith a few things.

Dr. Smith is often at odds with the opinions of other physicians....her practice is just her and her son....coincidence?

Doctor spends time and listens during appointments. I do not feel rushed out of her office. Respectful and knowledgeable.
