I am very dissapointed at Dr Sherman and I agree with the comlaints written against her, I hated her from day one through her comments, very insensitive, first time I went to her her attitude was what can I do for you and three minutes later conversation was over with her and she sent me to suck my blood to do lab work. I don't like her, anytime I had appointment with her I thought I was visiting a military dictator. I wouldn't recommend her to anybody, If you do go to see her, you will probably die, she dosn't listen to you. I am looking for another Doctor at this time.

Dr. Sherman is extremely knowledgeable. Honestly, I owe her my life. I had been to numerous doctors that pretty much wrote me off as crazy. By chance I ended up seeing Dr. Sherman and was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. She was able to catch what 13 other doctors those previous six months were not able to catch. She is a little abrassive and doesn't sugar coat things. Personally, I'm okay with that. She did tell me I was fat and needed to do something about it....and I appreciate that. I don't think doctors say that enough and perhaps they should.

One of the first things all doctors learn, even in school, is that stress causes illness. Why; according to any and all posts referring to Dr. Susan Sherman is she reported as disregarding patients input, even inferring stupidity and/or purposeful mis-representaion (accusing them of lying). Too, there is much testimony that she does everything imaginable (likely purposefully) to magnify stress in so many (if not all) of her patients.

Dr. Susan Sherman seems to have something worked out with an asocciate with the same last name, whom she refers you to for expensive tests that are clearly uncalled for. She mis-diagnosis and/or purposefully lies to her patients. She told me that water upsets the stomach and to stop drinking water after I told her that water was helping alleviate my upset stomach. I saw a man being continually tested for blood sugar levels (every 10 minutes) while I waited in waiting room. She had over-prescribed the poor fellows insulin and office staff was doing everything she could to get the mans' sugar to stop plummetting. While that was still going on (the fellow she had over-prescribed insulin to; kept getting more glucose-scans and sugar pills), Susan also berated me for performing glucose-scans on myself on an hourly basis when I had been managing an insulin reaction of my own at home. Yelling that no-one should EVER test that frequently. Told me too; that my acid reflux was a heart attack.

I consulted with her on help for blood sugars despite finger pricking 7 times a day and religiously taking my insulin as scheduled. Despite all this I couldn't get control. She looked at my reports and said, "What is your two-year-old going to do when you keel over and die? It's your fault your levels are like this. Come back in a month when you're willing to try harder." She is enough to make one suicidal. I never went back to her.

Dr. Sherman would have just been quick to let me leave but I kept stopping her and asking questions so I got a bit more time but if I did not ask questions she would have been too quick. I am going to keep her until I need something big then I will get a second opinion doctor.

In a profession filled with people who tend to be very busy and perhaps come off as a bit short,I have met no other health professional who is ruder than Dr Susan Sherman. She has a terrible bedside manner especially with regard to overweight individuals. She seemed to be as shallow and judgemental about it as your average high school cheerleader. She would barely speak to me let alone greet with a smile. It was not until I entered her office after having lost 20 lbs that she seemed to have any warmth whatsoever. One has to question why such a person would ever enter a specialty that by nature is filled with patients for whom she seems to have so much contempt. Further, she was dismissive when I asked to explain exactly what was going on in my body. She offered little explainiation that someone who is not an MD could understand. I switched to a doc who questioned Dr Shermans's course of treatment and am now doing much better. I would not recommend her to anyone.

I went to see dr sherman only once on feb 15th. I have had borderline hyperthyroid for 2yrs now and she wouldn't help me. I also suffer from panic/agoraphobia. I refuse to take prescriptions meds for that disorder and so the only sedative i use is alcohol when i have to leave my home (which is rarely, doctor app. only). I was honest and told her that. I told her my symptoms and that my body is very sensitive to the effects of hyperthyriod because i've only suffered panic/agoraphobia since i was diagnosed with it. She accused me of being an alcoholic and then told me that the hyperthyroid could not be the cause of my physical symptoms. That is totally incorrect. I have yet to find an endocrinologist near me that will help me. She was extremely rude. The office staff was also rude and completely unprofessional. I was floored by the sight. Not to mention the uncleanliness of her office environment. Very sloppy and disorganized. I would never go back to her again. I don't recommend her.

Although her care of my gestational diabetes was adequate, she is very un-personable. When I returned following pregnancy, I found her to be VERY un-informed about diabetes oral medications and infertility. She diagnosed me with Type 2 diabetes based on 1 HbA1C test, which is against every standard practice I was able to investigate. I quickly changed doctors, but would never recommend her to anyone, unless it was a very simple, straightforward case.
