My introduction to Dr. Valdivia was him asking me "So when are we gonna grow up? " while entering my waiting room. After a couple minutes discussion I understood that his question was implying that I was simply choosing to take medicine instead of making "healthier" choices in my life and eliminating the need for my prescription. His assumption came without any feedback or conversation with me. Not sure what his intentions were and didn't spend more than a few minutes together. He appeared quick to judge, quick to interrupt and arrogant. Unprofessional and I regret coming here for help.

I am writing this review to help give some clarification to the bad reviews I am seeing. Dr V normally is seemingly in a rush, he's busy! He does take the time to make sure all of my issues are dealt with, and assures me to stop into his personal office before leaving the building if I have any other questions. I do see many of the poor reviews have mention of wanting a "specialist." I had no need for a specialist, so I cannot speak to that, but if Michigan State University says he is qualified to diagnose me, I am good with it! Look at the grammar and verbiage of some of the poor reviews...... Dr. V is an extremely intelligent individual, and I could easily see an under-educated person not keeping up, and feeling stupid around him, leading to a poor experience. I will not see any other doctor until Dr V retires! - Thank you for all you do Dr V!!

I TOOK MY 24 YEAR OLD BROTHER FOR A FOLLOW UP APPT. WITH DR. VALDIVIA AFTER BEING IN A CAR ACCIDENT OVER THE WEEKEND, HE HAD OTHER CONCERNS THAT NEEDED TO BE ADDRESSED AS WELL. I HAVE TO SAY, HE IS THE "WORST" DR I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED! HE 1ST ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT THE CAR ACCIDENT AND THEN PRETTY MUCH ACCUSED MY BROTHER OF DOING DRUGS AND THAT COULD HAVE BEEN THE CAUSE OF ACCIDENT. I DISCUSSED MY BROTHER NEEDING MEDICATION FOR DEPRESSION PER HIS DR. AT THE HOSPITAL AND HE ASKED WHY. I TOLD HIM OUR BROTHER HAD PASSED A FEW YEARS AGO AND MY 24 YEAR OLD BROTHER (THE PATIENT) NEVER DEALT WITH IT, HE TOLD US VERY SARCASTICALLY, "SORRY YOUR BROTHER'S DEAD, BUT YOU CAN'T HAVE EVERYONE FEELING SORRY FOR YOU" I ASKED ABOUT A REFERRAL TO COUNSELING AND HE THEN TOLD MY BROTHER.."IF YOU WANT TO SEE A COUNSELOR, I WILL SEND YOU THEN WASH MY HANDS OF YOU!" HE WASN'T PROFESSIONAL, HE CURSED ALOT WHEN TALKING AND JUST DIDN'T SEEM INTERESTED. OVERALL, HE IS A JERK! DO NOT SEE DR. VALDIVIA!

I went to see Dr. Valdivia and he was is a rush, however that was because he had many other patients in the other rooms with much serious problems and concerns then i did. I thought he was a great doctor. He was very concerned about my health and made sure that all my questions were answered before i left. The waiting room was also extremely packed. He must be a good doctor if that many people are in the lobby waiting for there turn.

The staff is nice but Dr. Valdivia is a terrible Dr. who rushes you and does not take the time to listen to you as a patient. He leaves you feeling like you don't matter. He got mad at me when I asked to be referred to a specialist!! Why should he deny someone the right to see a specialist? I would not recommend him to anyone, RUDE, no rapport, or class! Stay away!!!
