Only spent 5 minutes with me in recent apppointments. Doesn't return my calls . Support staff rude and unfriendly. Don't feel doctor cared. Lacked compassion.

Dr. Steinmetz showed zero willingness to discuss any literature written by other doctors. The latest studies completely contradict her evaluation of my condition and her advice. She actually said to me "I already know everything and I am not going to read that" In fact she showed her colossal ignorance on the subject by refusing even to order a full panel of tests. I believe I have right to expect my doctor to be well-informed about any medication they prescribe and Dr. Steinmetz 's advice simply showed her overwhelming ignorance of what type of blood tests should be conducted and what the blood test results really indicated. For some unknown reason she was also insistent that splitting the dose during the day instead of taking it at one time was dangerous! She also ignored all clinical observations of blood pressure, basal temperature, and pulse rate, none of which indicated any high dosage effects. Dr. Steinmetz needs to act in the best interests of the patient instead of arrogantly assuming she knows everything because she has an MD degree. She tried to alarm me with warnings about a possible heart attack if I continued at the same dosage I have been on with no ill effects for a year. In fact the literature states that a patient who lowers this dosage below what is required can also go into heart failure. There is a narrow band of correct dosage. I sincerely hope that Dr. Steinmetz's arrogant ignorance does not cause a tragedy for one of her patients in the future who does not dare to question her advice.

Dr. Herman is great! While I agree with some of the other users statements regarding CHW, wait times and length of visit, I hope that these issues will be resolved now that she has moved to Palo Alto Medical (I moved with her!). Dr. Herman is the only doctor that I have had who can suggest alternatives to traditional medicine (alternatives that actually work). Not that she is anti-traditional medicine by any means. She is just the whole package. I do agree though that at times, face time is brief.

Alison Hermon is a very good personal doctor. she asks the right questions to get to the root of things and is very through. The environment she works in paints her in not such a nice light. The staff is rude and delays with them are common. A simple skin test read(A nurse looks at a spot on your skin for a reaction. This takes less then 30 sec.)once took over two hours. The doctor wasn't even involved. Again DR. Hermon is excellent and should move her practice and all her patients to a new location.

Dr. Herman used to be one of the best choices when she was in Capitola. Now that she's with CHW it's totally different. seems very rushed, office staff is horrible and waiting time has been over 45 min. late the past 3 appts. Called me crazy and nuts for deciding not to get the flu vaccines this year, found that very unprofessional.

Dr. Herman double books, so you either have to wait or you have 5 minutes with her. Rushes through the appointment. She's good at standard diagnostics, but the process becomes very slow and frustrating if your condition becomes more complicated. I had a case where I kept complaining of stomach pain and couldn't get anywhere with her!
