Too many patients not enough time. You wait forever and when you finally see her she is in and out before you can blink an eye. It;s difficult to ask her a question. After weeks of agony I went to another Doctor.

While Dr. Murphy attepted many procedures with me & she DOES have a wonderful bedside manner - she does know her limitations and when to send for a consult - which she did. I certainly got sick & tired of WAITING in her office for HOURS on end, especially when I drove a distance in the first place to get there. I started leaving - MY time is valuable too! I had other appointments & things to do, could not wait around all day just to see her. I left her office and moved on to another urologist. Now I have to travel even further to a different women urologist group- but the knowledge & WAIT time has improved : ) I NEVER EVER waited as long in any doctor's office - as Dr. Murphy's. That alone, every single visit - even if you are the FIRST appointment of the day is WAAAAY too frustrating to me to keep her on as a doc.

Dr. Murphy is an extremely knowledgable urologist. However, that fact does not entitle her to have apparent disreguard for her patient's time. In agreement with all other comments - Expect to wait, at a minimum, 2 hours in the waiting room, 1 hour once in the examining room. The staff can be abrupt, if not down right rude. It's a shame because it wouldn't take much to make what is, for most people, a potentially anxiety provoking experience more pleseant.

I agree with the comments posted on 3/1/2007. I also had an appointment in early March. It was close to 2 hours after my appointment time before I was seen. I believe she is very competent. However, I've only seen her for about 5-8 minutes, at the most. She always responds fully to questions. However, I don't like waiting that much. As a result, I'm looking for another doctor.

Dr. Murphy is a wonderful physician who is always helpful, informative, sympathetic and practical. Though you can always count on a long wait to see her (she's very popular), she is ultra-competent. She has performed two surgeries and many diagnostics on me, and they all worked as planned. She's tops!

This doctor has the least amount of respect for the patient's time that I have ever experienced. She does not like you to ask many questions and acts threatened when you do. She refuses to give advice or results over the phone even when you explain that you do not have HOURS to waste waiting in her office for a 10 min. visit. She did not even see me after she performed in hospital procedures. She left a note on a prescription saying "all went well". I am trying to find another urologist. Her office never seems to receive test results like other doctors offices. Bad news.

I believe that she is very knoledgeable however expect to wait hours most likely 2 once in the waiting room then another hour once taken back. And as far as pain management during an IC flare forget about it. Also has great bedside manner but boy are you rushed. Better have those questions ready when you go in. Your lucky if you get 3 minutes with her

reason i went to her is that she is the only female urologist in nj. everytime you go, expect to wait for hours. office staff is not just rude but downright nasty. even kept me waiting for hours for the surgery she performed. i need to switch to another dr. i think she is competent, but i never feel we connect at all when i go in. even after the surgery, i am still having issues.

She was a good surgeon. However, she left for vacation the day after my surgery and did not tell me. She left an inexperienced person in charge of her patients and that person released me too soon. I ended up in emergency 3 times because of that. When following up in her office upon her return, I had to wait 3 hours to see her. When someone came in to say that they saw her in a restaurant having lunch (with an office full of people) that's when I left and went to another surgeon. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS DOCTOR/SURGEON, unless you want to be treated with a lack of respect and caring.
