My husband and I were looking for a new doctor several years ago, so we made appointments. Never even met the doctor. Had our annual visit performed by a nurse practitioner. My mother had been seeing her for a few months. She was having severe pain in her head for a month or soand after calling several days, the receptionist, (who was her sister) told my mother to just take Tylenol. Well finally when the pain had gotten unbearable and my mother was unable to speak to the doctor, my mother told her she was going to the emergency room. The receptionist was very nasty with her and told her if she did, then she could find herself a new doctor! Needless to say that is exactly what we did. Lucky for her that we are not the sueing kind, because as it turned out, my mother had a blockage in her renal artery!
