This doctor is the worst. He is a waste of space. My thyroid was not tolerating the doses my primary was putting me on and so then I was referred to Dr. Chin. I went to him and he did not bother to look at my labs or discuss what could be done to help me as my thyroid had seemed to have gone kaput. He deferred me back to my primary that sent me to him in the first place, he's suppose to be the subject matter expert on thyroid issues, but clearly he is not. Do not allow your primary to send you to the wasteland of a doctor. Do you research before going to these specialists or anyone for that matter. By the way, I seen by him at the VA, but he sees patients at AU as well. He sucks!

As someone with Hashimotos and on Synthroid only, I was having many, many symptoms that were making my life miserable. Dr Chin looked me in the face and told me there is nothing that can be done since my TSH was in range. There are many things that could be done, he just did not want to do them. I have since found an MD that listened to me and did extra testing to get to why my Synthroid only treatment was lacking. I feel that Dr Chin did know things that could help but the medical model in treating Thyroid/Hashimotos patients is completely behind the times. I actually asked about certain things that people have done that have helped their symptoms but Dr CHin would have nothing to do with even discussing any of it with me. He was rude and dismissive and condescending and I sincerely hope no on else has to experinece what I did.

He was nice and did m biopsy on my thyroid thank god it wasnt cancer I had my surgery done and well he said everything on mu thyroid levels should be normal and in the end I went towards hypothyroidism and well he refused to give me meds and told me to have my primary prescribe me the meds. My primary told me to see a specialist so I am pretty much screwed and miserable right now and without meds. Please avoid at all costs.

Dr was not particularly helpful in explaining my cancer (thyroid), which is supposed to be his speciality. Did not explain long term treatment plan nor discuss options. Mainly he just followed standard protocol treatment for this type of cancer, which is fine except I could have received this much closer to home with a nicer (if not better) doctor. Staff at this hospital are rude and unhelpful as well.
