I will try and make this short, which is hard, since the list of appalling things is quite long. 1) His office staff is beyond rude and seem to go out of their way to NOT help; 2) his office staff seems to cancel appointments without even letting the patients know; 3) if Dr. Buch is so busy and can't stand spending a reasonable amount of time with patients, then he should stop accepting new ones; 4) the ability to explain what could be wrong and what should be done seems to be completely missing; or just not thought of as important; 5) overall, it seems like he must have too much to do and too little time to care - even for those who are severely sick. There are many other good or great gastros to go to - I would suggest choosing one of those.

I take my elderly mother to Doctor Buch. In my opinion, the man is great, very knowledgeable in his field. He seems to grasp what the problems are immediately. Doctors are not your friends, they are your health providers. I like the man because he is competent. My mom, however, has a problem with his manner. It is brusque. She likes doctors who baby her. If you want a highly competent doctor who most likely won't hold your hand but may save your life, go see Dr. Buch. If you need to be babied, go see someone else.

Dr. Buch saved my life, starting in 1993. I am forever grateful. I care little about bedside manner. I care greatly that he ALWAYS goes to "whole nine yards". Without that carefulness, the problem would have been missed and I wold now be dead. Thank You!!!!!!

He's a very thorough Dr. Detected a 1c cancer in my husband that was caught extremely early. Extremely professional and knowledgeable.
