Dr. Kalunian is incredibly smart, kind, and supportive.He is a researcher/clinician & professor; dedicated to his patients. Been my rheumatologist for >13 years treating my RA and OA and CPPD carefully. He partners w/patients, listening, strategizing, etc.-so important in the treatment of rheumatological diseases for which there is no "cure" at this time. Cannot say enough about this MD as a clinician or as a person. For first time patients: he is initially quiet, a bit shy, but very thoughtful. A great listener and notetaker. Be sure to ask any and all questions and you will receive an answer-always. His staff is terrific--not always the case in an academic medical center! You will never feel like a "number" in his office. Office hours are limited to two days a wk., but worth any inconvenience this may present.
