I knew of this md's reputation but my usual derm md was not available so I figured Dr Luckasen could get me a prescription for a rash on my lips. He did that but was annoying beyond description. His manner says "I am bored to death with seeing middle aged women with rashes. Why did I choose dermatology??? Why oh why..." He told me my rash was from lipstick, never to use it again - ever, and all lipsticks contain the same ingredients. Well he certainly is not a cosmetic manufacturer so doesn't know how many different formulas there are. A cosmetic rep told me it is likely the ingredient that makes lipsticks highly frosted that is offensive and that seems to be true. No problem as long as I avoid those so far. This md wrote a script that helped but md's can be knowledgeable, effective, AND NICE and RESPECTFUL to you!!!

This was the absolute worst experience of my adult life. Dr. Luckasen is rude, condescending, insensitive and lacks basic social decorum one would expect from a health provider. His nurses were rude and void of any social etiquette as well. It appears that they may be miserable working for him but please do not take it out on the paying customers! I have suffered from acne my entire life and went to Midwest Dermatology for a consult on their laser procedures. Dr. Luckasen took an already, obvious "sensitive" topic and turned it into a horrifying experience. Dr. Luckasen appeared to know absolutely nothing about the procedure and when asked appeared to get defensive. He acted as if he could not wait to get out of the room. I was even more insulted when I saw the price of the surgery! 3-4x the cost of the same exact procedures at other offices! I notified my insurance carrier of the subpar services being rendered by Dr. Luckasen. He is the worst doctor I have ever been to!

I came for a first-time skin survey. Dr Luckasen spent less than 2 minutes looking at my skin (skipping many areas), asked zero questions about my history, risk factors, or concerns. "Yep, you have a lot of moles. Come back in a year, stay out of the sun" was the extent of his comments to me. As a Registered Nurse who is studying to become a Family Nurse Practitioner, I was appalled at the lack of attention to detail and the factory-line feeling in the office (packed tiny waiting room, patients cycled through for <5 minute visits). I am sorry I wasted my annual insurance benefit and $30 on this worthless encounter.

He was the Absolute Worst Dr. I have EVER seen in 40+ years. Although I was a new patient, he spent no time talking to me at all. He spent maybe a total of 4 minutes with me -- 2 of that causing a horrible mess on the end of my nose. I was suppose to have a very small bump(which he said was nothing)removed - he left a crater 3 times the size that it started at. It looks horrible and I am just sick everytime I look in the mirror.

Went to him a few months ago. Wanted him to look at a couple moles on my legs. He didn't even look and said sun damage. Then glanced at my back and said everything was ok. I saw another doctor in the office who has since retired and he spent a lot more time looking over my skin. Don't go to this doctor.

When I left his office I was mad to the point of tears. I cannot believe this man is a doctor. He should not be allowed to have human contact of any kind.

I have no complaint about this doc's expertise, but I would say his bedside manner could be seen as somewhat lacking. He was professional and friendly, but did not offer any explanations, and very little of his time. To give him the benifit of the doubt, this may be just due to his workload, or just a personality quirk. His examination was the briefest I've ever had by any doctor, but maybe he just knew exactly what he was looking at. His nurse was friendly and helpful, but I probably didn't get 5 minutes of the doctor's time, including freezing a spot on my face (without asking permission before he started) and removing a mole on my back. I would have had a greater comfort level if he had spent a little bit more time with me discussing my concerns. I will probably just use my family doctor in future, rather than use a specialist. I think I will get greater attention and ultimately the same medical treatment.
