I can only concur with the other actual patient reviews - Dr. Shin is a wonderful doctor. I saw another doc previously whom I did not like. I was refered to Dr. Shin instead and I am very glad I asked for another Internist. He is genuinely interested in how I am doing, even beyond my acute condition. Highly recommended. For such a well-respected doctor he is kind and not arrogant. I was surprised to read the reviews from his time in Prince George. They sure know a lot about his personal life - must be a disgruntled colleague and not a former patient. Anyway, I am glad he is here now.

From the experiences I have had dealing with Dr. Shin, I find him to be extremely "lazy". Dr. Shin does not like to go above an beyond to treat his patients. He will do the bare minimum required that he has to do treat his patients. I question his expertise and knowledge, and think he will not do what should be done to treat his patients as best as he can, because he is too lazy to come in to see his patient's in the middle of the night if need be. I would caution all of Dr. Shin's patients, and always get a second opinion.

This doctor is the worst, immature person I have ever met. In fact he and his wife were basically run out of Prince George and are the laughing stock of the town. Anything good written here was probably done by himself. Stick to waitressing and clothing.

I have had the pleasure of dealing with Dr. Shin over numerous visits. He didn't hesitate to test for everything that could be the cause of the symptoms I had. He diagnosed me with a genetic disorder that is extremely rare affecting only 10,000 people in all of Canada. He always took the time to answer my questions give good medical advice and followed me very closely. I believe he is an excellent doctor, with wonderful skills and expertise. Very caring and compassionate. It was a very sad day when Prince George lost this wonderful doctor.

More concerned with following protocol, refuses to pursue other avenues of testing. If you dont have text book symptoms well then as far as hes concerned you dont have asthma, you must have a strong family history, any other symptoms besides text book symptoms are irrelavent to him. This doctor refuses to acknowledge that just mabe the filthy air in the city has something to do with breathing problems. He refused to answer questions untill I did a potentially dangerous test, which I refused. He refused to acknowledge that asthma can become worse at certain times of the month for women. He then stated that he didnt actually know if I really has asthma or not so he wrote in my chart that I didnt have it.I for one am not about to put my life into the hands of someone who is too arrogant to actually write down truthfully that they dont know and put false statements on my chart. As any asthmatic knows, the majority of us dont have "text book symptoms".
