I agree with some of the others. Though he's ALWAYS punctual, I always feel rushed when I visit. I ask a lot of questions because he doesn't know how to "dummy it down". I'm not the physician, so I don't always understand the first time - nor the medical jargon. He does have a tendency to spend more time talking about the insurance rather than the condition. One time, my primary care physician hadn't faxed over the referral prior to my visit w/Samorodin, and you could see the frustration, as well as hear it in his voice. I felt attacked almost. It was definitely an experience. I guess I keep coming back because he's been the family dermatologist for years, but I'd never refer anyone else to him.

On time, no nonsense, very knowledgeable, can get an appointment easily. Has been our family dermatologist for 15 years. Would not go anywhere else.

Have known him for years & Dr. S is definitely knowledgeable in his field. We joke in my family about how quickly you are in & out of there, but he addresses the problem in a short time. I like that you don't have to wait & I love getting in & out quickly! Have only been to him for mole removals & acne rx. (nothing serious), but he always answers questions.

He is very easy to get an appt with and one thing that I LOVE about this doctor is that my child developed cellulitis that almost per him in the hospital. Dr. Samorodin gave me his home phone number and wanted me to call if he worsened etc. Whenever I call the office I can speak directly to him which I did not find w/ my other derm..He seems very knowledgeable. Now, on the flip side, he is extremely rushed and when I had a complicated matter this last time, he repeatedly commented about the 'packed' waiting room so I felt like I was only allowed 5 minutes of his time. No matter what I did to get him to listen to my problem I felt like he had his mind made up when I already walked through the door. But he is old school and he is readily available. Pros and cons..

I have been getting treatment for warts for sometime. This doctor does not know the difference between Wart and Acne. He treated both of them same way. He made a huge blisters on my face, when I compare his service to the other doctors, his knowledge, and treatmenet are incompetent. His facity is like going to Dollor Store. On top of it, he won't take credit card for co-pay.

I've been a patient of him for over 20 years for various problems from warts to acne. He's quick yes... maybe some feel rushed... but I love it because there's no time to be anxious. He is "old school" though when it comes to acne. But I've been to other derm docs for it and they just seem to want to rip you off by buying their products. Dr. Samorodin is not money hungry. His quickness and techniques are just his way. This man knows his stuff!

My favorite thing about Dr Samorodin was that I he was always on time. On the flip side, I always felt rushed while in his office. It was a chore to try to get him to calm down and explain my condition to me. I definitely feel like he rushes patients in and out to make the most amount of money possible. He spends more time talking to you about your insurance company then about your medical condition. Also, if you go see him for acne, he will try as many medications as possible before putting you on accutane (the best acne medicine on the face of the earth), and he says it is because the insurance companies don't like to cover it. I have been on accutane 3 times with 2 different insurance companies. None of them indicated that coverage would be a problem. I think he wants to keep you coming back over and over again before putting you on a medicine that he knows will work. I have been seeing Dr Samorodin for around 7 years, and I am finally tired of feeling rushed.

I have to admit that I was skeptical when I first walked into Dr. Samorodin's office but once we spoke my fears subsided. My visit to him dealt with a rare skin rash that develops on some pregnant women, PUPPPS. Not only did he diagnose it but he treated it perfectly in that the rash all but disappeared in days.

Very knowledgable, no nonsense Doctor. He will not try to sell you what you do not need. You do not have to wait long in the waiting room; visits are to the point, but he takes care of everything and will answer all you questions. And, he is very nice and does not talk down to you like some doctors do.

I have been going to this doctor for over 20 years, and he has cured or stabilized every concern that I have seen him about. He has extensive knowledge about the conditions of the skin.
