I like this doctor. Very down to earth, non-rushed and easy to talk to. Difficult to reach by phone.

Inquisitive, listened to my concerns, answered my questions. He also explained reasons for his decisions. This absolutely satisfies my requirements of a Doctor.

Receptionist stepped away from her lunch to book testing appointments for me.

I was referred to Dr Lau and I would have to strongly disagree with everyone who commented on his ego. I found him to be down to earth, patient and explained every detail very clearly to my husband and I. I highly recommend him. His MOA is another story. She is awful with patients. Very very rude.

We saw Dr Lau for my mother on the recommendation of our G.P.
He was Wonderful!
He was very patient, he answered all our questions. He laid out a variety of options, and explained all possible outcomes. He arranged for follow up at the appointment and we had best possible outcome.
He was super at putting my mother (and me) at ease.
Thanks Dr. Lau

Dr. Lau is very good but his MOA has shocked me. I have got along well with her in person but I called to let know that a drug that I was prescribed to me from Dr. Lau would be needing what is called' Special Authority' approval request form sent to Pharmacare . Certain drugs are needing this request to Pharmacare before Insurance companies will pay for some drugs if the request is approved. I asked the MOA if she could ask Dr. Lau to seek the approval via letter/form to Pharmacare. She cut me off quite abruptly and stated quite aggressively that it wasn't the physician's responsibility to be doing this (seeking approval for drug cost) due to [various reasons]. I let her know that I have never been told that requesting Special Authority approval from pharmacare was something Dr's would not do . In fact only the Dr. can do this. I went on to explain that Dr Lau would know that approval request process and that this MUST come from the Dr. ( patients cannot send in the forms requesting approval ) I asked to speak to Dr. Lau myself if she felt this was not his responsibility as I knew he'd be well rehearsed in the process and be fine with it. She then said she meant to say it's not the physician's responsibility to provide approval for the drug cost to be paid out. What ? She either didn't understand what I was saying/asking ( even though this is common request of Dr's offices according to my insurance company and my family Dr. office who does this regularly) or she just didn't listen due to cutting me off. Going on the defensive abruptly right away before understanding or listening to my question properly was what really shocked me.

Friendly gentleman who explains in layman's language exactly the situation and is always willing to take the time to answer my concerns. Receptionist may not smile a lot, but she has always been friendly, courteous and helpful.

Actually the receptionist was very pleasant in all my dealings with the office. I found Dr.Lau to have an extremely large ego and was not open to discussing anything I proposed to him. I will be looking elsewhere.

Enormous ego. Doesn't listen carefully to the patient. Will not entertain anyone else's opinions; even though the patient is aware that he is obviously the specialist, the patient should be heard.
