Not impressed. Curt demeanor, had to wait hour and 45 minutes past appt time before being seen. Looked at my MRI, pronounced that I needed at least 2 surgeries, ordered 2 tests without explaining any other options upfront or why theses painful tests were necessary. Been dealing with pain for years, I don't think he cared. Explained severity of pain, he agreed, no meds at all, even non narcotic or exercise suggestions for comfort, although next appt is wks away. If they don't care up front, imagine adding the pain of 2 surgeries without pain control or compassion. PA was sweet but girl at desk seemed to be hiding from patients best she could. Given the crackhead behavior of people waiting to be seen, I don't blame her. Doc may be good but he is curt, not people oriented nor informative. I feel like if I didn't obey all that he says, he would be really mad.

Outstanding! None better in Knoxville. The UT neurosurgeons use physician assistants and I never saw the doctor. They kept me at arms length from the doctor. I went to see Dr Fromke and he saw me within 3 days of my phone call and I had my surgery completed within the nest week. he nurses are very good and his staff is very kind. I made it back to work 2 weeks after my surgery. Found out afterwards he is the best neurosurgeon in Knoxville. I highly recommend him and I have referred several people to him.

Dr. Fromke may be a great neurosurgeon, I was looking forward to meeting with him and hoped he could help us continue care of our son. He left us in the patient room for an hour, then politely informed us that he didn't accept ChampVA insurance due to the poor reimbursement and he couldn't afford to receive low reimbursement for his services. I understand his frustration with the health care reimbursement system but as I told him it would have been nice if his staff had relayed this information to us before we were set up for an appointment, obtained medical records for him from past hospital admissions and physicians, were kept waiting in his office for over an hour to listen to his frustration with ChampVA low payment. We felt frustrated that we had wasted our time and apparently wasted his time. I hope he will help his staff know which insurance companies he will accept and that others will not be as frustrated as we were.

I got another doctor,I didn't agree with his surgery plans. Turned out it was a very wise decision.A fusion and steel rods are not aways needed. That why it pays to get a second opinion. In my opinion.
