On 10-12-207 I made appointment to get my pain medications from Dr Nichols office , Shawn he said get my medial papers to office which i did Then on Nov 28 the staff shawn tells me the doctor can not treat me , i ask why would not give me a answer . Now i have 7 days to try to find a new doctor . Im 58 yrs old had 4 back surgery in Nj the doctor there did ever thing they can and just told me to take my pain meds when i need them . If they told me when i called i would have time to find a new doctor .. This is no way to treat someone ..

Excellent, I came after a surgery accident leaving me in severe pain, thinking I would never lead a normal life again. Dr nicholas gave me my life back and I will forever be thankful!!!

Dr. Nicholas is an excellent Doctor who is very mature in his nature of handling chronic pain. If you think with your comment about narcotics and other medications being given to your son is unreasonable then I think that maybe you should see a mental health professional. Because you have no idea what its like to suffer with intense pain and depression from no quality of life every single day. I do.. So please do not judge. Furthermore I have to believe your son is an Adult. Maybe its time you let him be one. Best wishes on your negative attitude. Prayers for your son.

My in laws see Dr. Nicholas and I have met him and they have always spoke highly of him, he is a very caring Dr. and I would recommend him very highly !! Thank you Dr. Nicholas !!

After going to multiple other doctors from VA and NC I finally found Dr. N! He is a wonderful caring person who listens to me (the patient) about what's going on, what helps, and what doesn't. He's never tried to shove a worthless procedure on me or forced me to try anything I wasn't comfortable with. I am a professional and was tired of being treated like a common street junkie by others in this field, I never feel that way with him. He has truly given me my life back and I'll never be able to repay that! Thank you Dr. N!!

Excellent!! He has given me a quality of life and has trusted me as a patient!! His field of medicine is very difficult and "pain management" is not understood in general. Dr. Nicholas prescibes me 3 percocet a day which has made a world of difference!! He has a wonderful and caring staff!!

Let me start by saying Dr N, has Great bedside maners with a concern for you the patient.
The Outer Banks is a small localized community that's Heath care system has had very little change over the past few decades leaving no choices for those that suffers with long term chronic pain .
He offers a renewal to the quality that I'm living and that is priceless for those who make the dission to choose a heathy way of life under his professional care.
He and his staff go above and beyond to accommodate your needs and questions .
He offers payment options for various treatments , and respects and supports his paicents with facts on weighing the benefits and risks of having surgical procedures concerning the areas of lower spinal nerve damage .
Thank you Dr N. For giving me time with my wife and children , with less pain to travel and do the things that make life worth living !!

Be careful his initial office visit is $425 for 20 minutes and they don't tell you that your insurance is not accepted even through they take your copay they send a bill for the remainder. I got my bill after the second visit was never told they didn't take my insurance until I got the bill. Deceptive and very poor business practice. I will not see him again

I've been seeing Dr Nicholas for about three years. He is by far the most compassionate doctor I've had in 40 years. He listens he answers your questions. He tells you your options. He does not put up with any lies or be. His staff is caring and professional. If it wasn't for him I'd have no quality of life. As far as I've seen he will not over prescribe and will not conduct worthless tests. I missed an appointment one time and they were concerned. When I had other problems like my mom having cancer and helped me through those hard times
Pain management is a hard. Practice the Dr screens and does urine testing anyone abusing will be no longer a patient. I didn't have much hope or much of a life before seeing him. I do now
If you really need help not drugs for a real pain conditions I would recommend him in a heartbeat.
