I cannot say enough about Dr. Gold and the other doctor's in this practice. The office staff are always happy, smiling, caring and accommodating. Dr. Gold, Dr. Gupta, and Dr. Lerner are so knowledgeable and caring. I truly am so happy with the doctors at the practice, especially recently. Not only are the doctors at this practice above and beyond the epitome of expertise, but also, and importantly, extremely personable. You are not just a number, Patty (the office manager) is the nicest most caring person I've come across in any doctors' offices. More often than not, Patty knows your name, and sometimes even calls to check how you're holding up, which she did for me today in addition to reminding me that I can call the office any time and any day if I ever need! Not only the best internists, but by far the best group of doctors I have ever dealt with. Being that my dad is a doctor, I know how easy it is to examine the symptoms, diagnosing them, all in 5 minutes. At this office, they treat each and every patient like there is no one else in the waiting room. The longest I've ever waited past my appointment time was maybe 10 minutes. They are so accommodating to emergencies, and easy to make an appointment. Anyone who is in search of an internist, I HIGHLY recommend Dr.Gold, Dr.Lerner & Dr.Gupta in Smithtown. My mother switched to this group, and is so impressed with the entire office staff and doctors.

Smartest doctor I know. I rather wait an hour to see Dr. Lerner than take a chance with someone I don't know.

I found Dr Lerner horrendous. I had to wait for at least 4 hours to see him and then he talks so quiet I couldn't understand a word he said. When I asked him to speak louder, he got mad at me!! I had heard that he was worth the wait, NO WAY. I would like to add that his staff was rude and the office was smelly and very old.

Have been a patient for a quarter century and found him never to rush a session and devote and listen completely and make you feel like you are his most important patient. I needed back surgery and he called me at 10 in the evening to make sure I had a second opinion from a surgeon who also operated on his wife. I found that call beyond anything I would have expected from a doc and never regretted his 10 in the evening advice.

I have been experiencing a debilitating malady for over two months. Met with my intern and four specialists. Numerous blood tests, xrays and MRI and still no clear idea what was the cause was. Recently, my inlaws demanded I see their internist, Dr. Harvey Lerner. Not only did he spent more time with than any physician I have ever met (almost two hours) for my diagnosis, but he identified my problem and prescribed a remedy during this one visit. A wonderful teacher in how he explains his observations and prescription. He exceeded my expectations. A true medical sage who I will recommend without reservation.

We have been patients for 20 years and love Dr. Lerner for his concern, knowledge of currant medical advances, love of what he does, and time he spends with us. The long wait is because he cares and spends whatever time is necessary to help each patient. He is constantly updating his knowledge and tries natural remedies before jumping into drugs or recommending surgery. We love him.

I heard for years how intelligent, treats the patient as a "whole" not just paying attnetion to the symptom.Takes his time, researches and teaches. I am a patient for a few years and I agree. How fortunate for me to have Dr. Lerner so involved in my care.
